I just ignore them, those noise and grain. And then i started caring more about composition, environmental lightning and editing, and some other factors that make a photo good. I don't make money from photography, so i don't need my photos to be perfect. I learned resolution and noise aren't important, what emotions the photos bring is important. Because my mind is used to ask me " If you take this great photo that you love and reduce half of its resolution, add noise, grain. Would you still love it?". And my answer is always yes. Whenever I take photos with my iPhone 12 Pro, they come out with HUGE noise, low quality, and horrible lighting. How are you guys getting these good photos and how do you get rid of the noise and grain?

r/iphone on Reddit: Iphone 12 Pro Max portrait mode seems better than 16 Pro Max? Advice appreciated if there are settings to help with this.
January 13, 2024 -

Photo 1, 3 and 5 are from the 16 Pro Max and photo 2, 4 and 6 from the 12 Pro Max.

The portrait mode for Iphone 12 PM seems to be able to isolate the subject better from the background compared to the 16 PM. This is evident in the photos of the cups where the 16 makes it blurry.

I feel a bit disappointed with the 16 PM at the moment as I was expecting an improvement with the camera but feels like it got worse.

Hi

With my iPhone 12 camera settings everything is extremely vivid / sharp and I'm not happy with the output. Being honest it makes every imperfection look a billion times worse

On other cameras / old Samsung pictures look great but on iPhone everything is extremely vivid / sharp etc. Was much easier to change settings on Samsung phones as well

How can to reduce this on iPhone 12 camera? there appears to be very little filters other than brightness

Many thanks,

These iPhone 12 Pro Max Camera Tips Will Help You Snap The Most Perfect Pics
February 20, 2024 - Paired with an extended telephoto lens, which "allows for longer framing in the classic portrait style," as well as enhanced stabilization technology due to the sensor shift, the low light performance of the 12's camera is 87% better than the camera of the 11 Pro Max. Here are some tips to take DSL-quality photos and videos on your phone. While iPhone users used to only be able to shoot in a "raw format" by using third-party apps, Apple has taken a cue from Google's pixel phones by introducing Apple ProRaw in its camera app. If you want greater control of your exposure, shutter speed, ISO, and white balance in settings where lighting can distort your image, you'll want to shoot in raw so you can choose the settings yourself and have greater freedom when editing later.

November 10, 2025 - City scenes, with car headlights, vibrant shop window displays and even festive holiday decorations can provide superb fodder for night shots. And don't worry if it rains. Those wet streets will now reflect all of those lights, which can look amazing. Check out our tutorial if you want to get even better results from your night-time phone photography. While the iPhone is great at automatically using settings to take a 'correct' image, what that really means is that it's trying to balance all the tones in your image to avoid having dark shadows or bright highlights.
