Planning on going to Universal tomorrow with 4 young children (ages 4-7.) Are the express passes worth it? Or do you think the lines won’t be too crazy tomorrow (November 11.) thanks!
Hello, My significant other and I are planning to go to Universal studios in a month or two. We’re planning to go on a week day so I was curious if it is usually crowded enough for us to need express passes.

My boyfriend and I saved up and plan on going for one day and have park-to-park tickets. I was thinking about going for the express passes but they're pretty expensive. Would you say they're worth it? Since we are only going for one day I think it could save some stress of getting on rides. But idk that price point is pretty hefty.
Hi!
We are planning on visiting Friday, October 13th. This is my best friend’s first time visiting, so I’d like us to be able to do and see as much as possible. We will only be there for one day and planned on purchasing the park-to-park admission with an express pass. I understand the express pass is a luxury, but I personally can’t justify spending more on that than the actual ticket. Do you think we can complete both parks without the pass? I believe the park closes early due to HHN as well.
Thanks in advance!
Hi, my wife and I will be in Orlando during the second week of December and are considering whether it’s worth purchasing Express Passes for Universal Studios Orlando - Islands of Adventure. We’re planning to visit on a weekday, not the weekend. Do you think the $120+ per person cost is justified?
Hi guys!
My boyfriend and I are celebrating our 6 year anniversary and are looking into booking a last minute trip to Universal Studios Hollywood. We're coming in from Toronto, Canada.
We are planning on going in 2 weeks (Jan 21 + Jan 22). We're thinking of buying a 2 day admission ticket as well as an express pass. Do you think the express pass is worth it? I don't know how busy it is around this time (after the holidays). We will be going on a weekday. If we get the express ticket, do we even need a second day at Universal? Let me know your thoughts!
Oh also, if you have any suggestions of where we can stay (hotel wise) that's nearby or a cheap Uber ride away that would be great.
My girlfriend and I are going to universal Orlando next week Tuesday-Wednesday. It’s her first time ever and my first time in 15 years. I’ve read that around that time is usually not very busy because kids back to school and weather sucks, so as of now we are planning to stay on-site at a value resort for the night. The thing is it’s only gonna end up costing me an extra 400$ to get a premier room which would give us express pass for both days. I don’t want us to feel rushed since we’re only there for 2 days, is it worth the extra 400 to upgrade and get the passes?
Edit: Thanks for the responses everyone, they were all very helpful. We decided to upgrade to royal pacific for the night, super excited!
Hey guys!
I’m planning a trip to Universal May 11, 2025 to May 16, 2025. Do you think it’s worth getting an express pass for this time ? I don’t know what to expect of the crowds around that time.
I'm going in late January, and I'm spending a day by myself, and a day with family at the park. I'm a coaster enthusiast, and was wondering if the express pass unlimited was worth it? What kind of time do you save, especially on like velocicoaster?
My husband and I planned a trip to Universal Orlando 3 parks. I am wondering if its worth it to get the unlimited express ride passes, its almost 1800.00 for all 5 of us for 2 days for just the express passes. I started looking around and can get Discovery Cove passes and all of us can swim with Dolphins,go snorkeling food and beverages are included for the day plus so much more for the same price. I want to know if express passes are really worth it our trip is planned 9/18 - 9/25. We have our Universal tickets for Tues, Weds,Thurs
Thanks for any advice
do you think it is worth it? we are going to the park for 2 days to both parks, but only going to get express pass for 1 day , what do you think?
We are going to universal the first week of November. My first question is, are the fast passes worth it? Are the wait times still just as long with the fast passes? I assume it will still be super busy since we will be there during HHN. I really want to do all the Harry Potter stuff, so should we hit that as soon as the park opens? I haven’t been to Universal since I was around 10. Now I’m 33 and we are taking our 12 year old and a 1 year old. Obviously 1 year old won’t be able to ride anything so grandma is coming with us and we will alternate. Super excited to go and I think we may do 1 night of HHN. We are taking our son to a haunted house before we go to be sure he’s up for it. He’s super pumped as well!
Edit: has anyone paid extra for the VIP experience? Was it worth it? Or should we just do the fast passes and not pay extra for the vip experience?
I am staying at universal studios for 3 days and was wondering if the Express pass is worth it. It’s out first time there so I’m not sure what to expect.
Going to universal studios hollywood in a week and I already bought our express tickets. I just learned that there is an unlimited express that lets you skip the line/go to the shorter line as many times as you want for each ride vs the regular express tickets that only lets you do it once for each ride. What I’m asking is, are there many (if any) rides that are so cool/fun that you’d want to ride it more than once, making it worth it for me to upgrade to the unlimited express? I’m a first timer. Realistically, I don’t see my husband & I wanting to ride a ride more than once but again I’ve never been so I’m not sure how dope the rides are to even know if we’d want to do it more than once. It’s only $40 each person to upgrade, but if the rides aren’t worthy of going on more than once then it’s not necessary to spend the extra 80 bucks. Thanks in advance!
Hey guys. Quick question. I’m debating if I should get the universal express pass once a ride, or get the one you can ride on it as many times. Is it really worth the money ? How would they even check which express pass I have ?
Making a trip out in Orlando, Florida with a good friend of mine.
We plan on going to Universal Studios and Island Adventures in 1 day for the main attractions (roller coasters).
The day we plan on going is on Friday, November 11th.
This would be my first time attending in over a decade so this process is a blur to me and I’m certain there has been changes. We want to avoid waiting in lines throughout the day and just move through both parks in a efficient manner.
My question is are lines long during this time of year and is the fast pass/express pass worth it if it’s just 2 people?
I know down here in Texas we have Six Flags and they offer lines for single riders. Has anyone found this a better option than buying a fast/express pass?
Any insight is appreciated.
I plan on going next month, I saw recently that it took people 2 hours to simply get inside the park.
My girlfriend and I have never been before and I want to try to go on almost all the rides (other than some that I've heard aren't worth going on or waiting for)
We have 2 day park hopper tickets and already a hotel booked (not a universal hotel)
So for a 2 day park hopper in August next month, do yall think its best i get us 2 express tickets?
I was thinking either the 1 day express pass of going on once of each ride for 2 parks (300$ total for 2)
Or a 1 park one for 280$
Or do you think ill be able to go on all the rides and get to shop and eat without any express tickets?
If u go towards the end of August, you may not need them since many kids go back to school. Early to mid August I would say yes. I never been to Universal without the express passes. I hate waiting in long lines. You probably won't be able to do everything and enjoy other things besides rides if you're just standing in line all the time. Another person suggested looking into one of the premier hotels. Even for just one night, it gives you two days of express passes!. Two passes on its own is $600 for the two of you. The hotel won't be that much. Not sure where you are staying, but I would definitely look into Royal Pacific for one night and maybe dockside (value) a second night. This also gives you early entry.
Also, if u get the passes , get the 2 park.
My partner and I are going to Universal Studios on the 5th Jan 2024. I’ve already bought the entry ticket and was keen for the express pass however it’s going to cost $560 aus for the two of us. Is it actually worth it and will it be really busy on the 5th Jan? Just seems like a huge amount of money on tickets that could be spent elsewhere but we also don’t want to line up for hours and hours if it will be really busy that time of year.
My husband and I are planning to go to Universal Studios Hollywood on the second weekend of December. I love all rides but he isn't a fan of rides with heights. In this case, is the express pass still worth it? I heard most rides in this park are more so motion based. Thanks in advance!
Hello, folks!
Me, my partner and two friends are going to Japan this November and we bought our tickets to the Universal Studios Japan park at November 11th, a Monday. We are really excited for it and started searching about it and saw many recommendations to get the Express Pass tickets to avoid wasting too much time in lines.
But the price is pretty high, almost double the entry ticket, do you think it is worth considering we're going on a Monday? Or should we expect it to be packed and as such it is essential for having a nice experience?
