I’m moving cross country, and I have a few moving boxes and things that I want to be scheduled for pickup instead of lugging them to a UPS store. I walked myself through the process of scheduling the pickup online, and it seems I’ll be charged a fee. Being charged a fee actually gives me some level of security because I figure paying for the services means it’s less likely that the items won’t get picked up.
Before I go through with it, I’d appreciate some reassurance regarding the reliability of a scheduled pickup, as I’ve never used this service before. TIA!
Edit: Hi all! Thank you for the comments and assistance, much appreciated! :-)
Hey, dumb question. I have a prepaid label and want to scheduled a pickup. Will ups charge me for that?
Thanks
I want to ship about 20 Home Depot Medium boxes to another state where I'll be moving into. I saw on the website that there is an option to schedule for a pickup with an small fee regardless the number of boxes. Has anyone used this before?
Will UPS driver knock on the door and pickup boxes or do I have to leave the boxes outdoor (which is really bad because it may rain in that day)?
What about shipping labels? Can UPS driver print out the label or do I need to purchase prepaid labels online and possibly have the UPS store to print them out for me?
Thanks in advance :)
I have a couple items I am returning to home Depot using their ups pickup. They said the items need to be outside and ups will put the labels on them. How early in the morning should the items be out on the porch for pickup? Thanks!
I had something weird happen today: Yesterday (Sunday) I requested a pickup for today (Monday) of a package.
Now, come today, at 08:50am, a UPS truck pulls up, guy gets out and drops off a package (they have drop-off permits, so perfectly normal for them to not ring for delivieries). I ran to get the package for pickup, however he didn't ring and basically was away immediately.
I was kind of annoyed because I thought they just pressed "package not available" for the pickup, however when checking the status of the pickup it showed that it hadn't yet been completed. Cause I couldn't yet be bothered to deal with it, I initially let it sit.
Then, 10 minutes later, again a UPS truck shows up, the same guy gets out and rings to get the package. I ask them why they didn't ring before, and they tell me they didn't know before and were obviously pretty annoyed.
Do you really only get notified for pickups after 9am? Cause I definitely requested the pickup a day ahead.
I'm asking because I have 12 packages for pick up tomorrow and I will just bring them down to the leasing office so the UPS driver can access them easier (I live on the fourth floor of a mid-rise apartment complex). However, the leasing office closes at 6pm. I might not be able to bring all the packages down until 3:30pm. So the window of time is a little short!
However, the packages can just stay in the leasing office overnight. So if the driver does not make the window, will they just pick up the next day on Saturday at any time?
Hi! I feel very silly asking these questions, but I've never used UPS Pickup before. I scheduled a pickup of 4 packages on Monday. I scheduled a wide range of time (like 9AM-6PM). It didn't seem possible to use an "earliest" time that was not AM or a "latest" time that was not PM. Will I be given a more specific time that they will pick up? When can I expect to know? Sorry again for the dumb questions; I did not find UPS' website very helpful
So this package is in my town, and I feel like it’s going to get delivered today but the estimation says otherwise. It’s for Christmas and I’d really like for it to get here today, if I do a pick up option would I be able to get it today or no? I don’t want to spend money to get told to pick it up Tuesday still.
If you change it to pickup and it’s out for delivery, someone can correct me if I’m wrong (not a driver), when the driver attempts to deliver it they will be told not to and to bring it back to the building and you probably won’t be able to get it until Wednesday.
Most hubs are delivering today. Changing to pickup probably wouldn't matter and will still be Tuesday
Hi , Do i need to go to the UPS stores or something like that to drop off my package or they will just pick it up from my home in the scheduled collection date. It's my first time sending a package so im making sure i do it properly thanks
So my supplier has a order sent( next day Sat) was suppose 2 arrive today, ups picks up frpm them before close of business, yet somehow my origin scan is 12:52am. Obviously not getting next day or Sat now. Why does ups not scan the sheet WHEN they pick up. Supplier says they have sheet with packages daily. And always picked up b4 cut off. So how does an origin scan go in at 1am Sat morning? Thanks this is only 2nd package of 100s ups messed up NOT due to weather. To be clear im not upset stuff happens, im just trying tp understand w/o weather or break down offcial delay how a Sat NDA gets origin scan 1am Sat. Thank you.
I sold a 4lb household item online and need to ship the item to a buyer in another state. Due to the pandemic, I don't want to go to a UPS store to drop off the package.
In the past, I usually have my buyers purchase a USPS shipping label, and I do the USPS schedule-a-pickup option (where USPS comes and picks up my package straight from my front door). However, this time I I accidentally had the buyer purchase a UPS shipping label instead of a USPS shipping label.
My question is: Does UPS charge a fee for scheduling a pick-up from my home? I am looking at the "UPS On-Call Pickup" option, and the website information is unclear. If UPS does charge a fee, how much is it? And does the fee get charged to the shipper (me) or to the receiver (buyer)?
