In my opinion that's plenty of time to know if you want to keep something. They have a business to run, everything is already 60% off every other week, probably tired of taking 49 day old returns. More on reddit.com

Just A Heads Up: JCrew no more free returns
They haven’t had free returns since last year or even longer. I normally return at store but during COVID lockdown they gave me a courtesy of a free return because the stores were closed. More on reddit.com

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone mention this yet...

J.Crew changed their return policy from 60 days to 30 days on April 5. Anything that shipped before then will still have the 60 day return window, but anything after that is down to 30 days.

I don’t think they sent out an email or anything that mentioned the change; I just happened to notice it on a recent order packing slip/receipt and asked CS about it.

Caveat emptor!

I placed an order on 5/23 and paid for expedited shipping, which went out 5/24. I received my order on 5/28.

I returned some items from the order and dropped off the shipment on 6/17, well within the 30 day window. I paid $7.95 for the return label.

Today, I received an email that my refund is in the form of a gift card because it was not received or processed within the 30 day time period. Are you kidding me?

Apparently the 30 day window starts when the items ship (not received) AS WELL AS the time it takes THEM to receive and process the return, which took 3 f*cking weeks. Are you kidding me?

So considering I received my package on 5/28, by this logic I would have had to return my package 5/26, 2 days before I even received it. This is a straight up SCAM. I'm livid.

Is this new? Because I've bought and returned from JCrew many times and this was never an issue. Wondering if anyone can comment on this. I'm shocked to not see any other mentions.

I'd contact them again and ask for more information about the "wear" on the item, especially if you repackaged it in the same state as it was when you opened it. I did receive a J Crew sweater once that smelled of cigarette smoke when I took it out of the plastic package. I phoned the customer service line and, after receiving a profuse apology, was told to ship it back for a replacement.
