Why does everyone complain about Jabra Earbuds?...
Moving on from Jabra earbuds and would love some help!
Jabra to EXIT consumer space in 2024 (No more Elite wireless earbuds and headphones)
Next Jabra earbuds : Jabra

Though we all know how outstanding they tend to be in terms of sound expertise ? Jabra is directly comparable to high profile and luxurious audio equipment brands such as Sennheiser, Bose, Sony, Devialet, Bang & Olufsen, Beyerdynamic,... However what we attest these days are people who are unforgivably comparing Jabra earbuds to cheap Chinese brands like Anker, OnePlus, 1More, Xiaomi, Earfun,... Why do people dare to make such baseless comparisons ? They horrendously make such statements that Jabra Elite 7 Pro call quality is atrocious though we all know that this particular product is highly call-centric and it even uses bone conduction sensor to improve noise suppression in adverse environments so that the person on the other line can hear you clearly and it works perfectly. Most reviews are mentioning this great call quality as one of this particular product's selling point and the most giant review company Rtings puts different samples of call quality so you can check it yourself how it sounds when you take calls. Still we see lots of people saying that the product is rubbish ! Even Rtings staff are shocked as why so many people are complaining about call quality and they find themselves committed to test every aspect of the product and they yet found zero problem with it. Users are mentioning that these reviewers are scammers and that living with these earbuds is no equal to reviewing it for a week. What's wrong with you people ? GN Group, a company that owns Jabra is an European, Danish company with over 150 years of experience in producing audio equipments and specifically headphones not some random chinese company... why not sticking with your OnePlus and leave class-leading brands such as Jabra, Shure, Devialet, Sony and Sennheiser alone ?
Hello earbud friends! I've been a Jabra user for years (currently Elite 85t) and was excited to move to the Elite 8 Active Gen 2 but now think that's a bad idea since they've been discontinued.
I think I've read 500 reviews and "best of" lists, and I'm feeling super indecisive. I've considered Beats, Bose, Soundcore, JLab, OnePlus, EarFun, etc etc etc.
Would love people's top recommendations, especially if you've used Jabra earbuds and have also moved on to other brands!
My top criteria are:
Easy/fast/stable connectivity with Android/Pixel.
Connects to 2 or more devices and moves between them seamlessly (I use a Macbook Pro laptop and need to move between that and my Android phone throughout the day).
I prefer button controls (because I'm easily annoyed by overly sensitive touch controls), but I'm open to touch controls if they're well tuned (and bonus points for customizable controls).
Great audio for vocals (80% of my earbud use is for work calls and listening to audiobooks, so it's important that those sound crisp and my own voice comes through clearly).
I need to be aware of my environment, so I either need them to have really good transparency/aware/hear-through mode or be comfortable and useful when wearing a single earbud (I find Jabra 85t hear-through mode to be pretty bad, so I pretty much always use a single earbud and don't mind doing so).
Ideal but less important:
I sometimes use my earbuds for working out so, ideally, they have a secure fit during high-impact activity (running, jumping) and be somewhat resistant to sweat. (I'm willing to buy a second pair just for workouts, if needed.)
I care about good quality sound for music (especially with heavy bass), but that's probably 20% of my usage, so it's less important than clear vocals.
ANC is something I want, but I don't need it very often so it's okay if it's not the best quality noise canceling.
As noted above, I'm okay with a moderately good transparency/aware/hear-through mode if single-earbud use works well.
Battery life is important (I use them for several hours a day) but I can typically charge off and on throughout the day so it doesn't need to be best-in-class.
Cost does matter to me, but I'm willing to spend more money for a great pair of earbuds.
I don't want ear hooks but I'm willing to consider them.
I prefer a standard earbud rather than air conduction, open ear, or bone conduction because I need my work calls to be private.
UPDATE
👎 I tried the Soundcore Liberty 4 Pro ($80 at Costco!!) but ended up returning them because of 2 major flaws:
🔴 They didn't fit well and hurt my ears after <1 hour of use
🔴 There was a clicking sound during all of my Zoom calls from my MacBook
👍 I bought and am keeping the OnePlus Buds Pro 3.
I like them a lot, but I don't love them. Based on my criteria, here's how they're working out:
✅ Easy/fast/stable connectivity with Android/Pixel
✅ Connects to 2 or more devices and moves between them seamlessly (I use a Macbook Pro laptop and Pixel phone).
✅ Controls work well and require an active squeeze or swipe. Haven't had any misfires with controls yet.
✅ Good audio for vocals; audiobooks, calls, and podcasts all sound good. I recorded my own voice using these and my Jabras, and the quality was nearly as good.
🟡 Transparency mode is decent; not great, but good enough for me. I spend most of my time using a single earbud because I find that to be easier for my circumstances.
🟡 Fit feels pretty secure during workouts and I didn't notice a lot of sweat interfering with the fit nor with the sound. Still, the lollipop style feels more prone to being knocked out (for example, doing plyometrics), but so far, this is good enough for me.
✅ Good sound quality for music, and the equalizer's preset options are good for me. Audiophiles will find this lacking, I'm sure.
🟡 ANC is good, not great. I don't use it much so this is okay for me, but I used it while on a plane recently and it was helpful. Still, if you need great noise canceling, these probably aren't your buds.
✅ Good battery life, and they seem to charge quickly in the case. That being said, I think battery life is more important after a longer period of time (for example, after a year, do they drain so quickly that they become unusable?).
🟡 I paid $164 with tax. This felt like a fair cost and in line with the quality, although I'm still kicking myself for not buying the Elite 8 Active Gen 2's during Black Friday sales.
🟡 The lollipop style is working out better than I thought it would. With long hair, I often have to think about whether the movement of my hair will knock them out of place, so that's annoying, but overall, they sit comfortably in my ears and don't move around much.

Ironically I just lost my Jabra Elite75t and went to use the location/tracking feature only for it to be 4 months old and said it was in a city 5 hours away... when I had it that morning and it was somewhere in the vehicle. Yikes
I vouched to never buy such dumb software implementation like this... and voila, they validated my thought process
