Jurassic world evolution 3 review (no spoilers for story or plot)
Why do we not have any 'Jurassic Park' video games that are NOT park builders!?
I’d like a current gen one with like with a Turok vibe where you are either a left behind Park worker during the events the first JP or a InGen Dinosaur hunter on the site B island. Either one would turn into a fight for survival off the island.
Just plain and simple. You find items. NO CRAFTING. Spend them carefully, guns, ammo, other items etc just to get to a point off the island.

If I was a Mercenary and I was in that forest and saw something like Metriacanthosaurus or Carnotaurus, id shit my soul.

Cool idea. It's nice to see a game idea that isn't just Alien:Isolation with raptors.
Couple things:
-So basically the goal for the Traitors is to make it to the dock with embryos, and the goal for the non-traitors is to stop the heist and survive the night?
-What are non-traitors doing while the traitors are trying to pull off the heist? Nedry would have never gotten as far as he did if the others knew that there was a traitor on the island. It seems like the strategy would just be to keep the group together, and anyone who breaks off would be assumed a traitor.
-If the traitors do get tied up before setting the plan in motion, does everyone just wait around until the night's over?

Just to state before hand this is a PS5 version review not a PC review so somethings maybe different in the way things feel or handle between gaming platforms.
So to start of with me singing the praises of the game, the voice acting, story of the campaign and dinosaurs deaigns tho somewhat questionable at times are still great. The environments and biomes look stunning, feeling greatly superior to the previous games and overall is a great looking and a fantastic feeling game and you can tell frontier wanted to give us something that wasn't just a basic repackaged jurassic world evolution 2 with babies and fun goodies that could have been dlc or free updates, but it's not that the game overall is a solid and somewhat big step up from both Jwe 1 and Jwe 2. Thoses all come down to lots of choices made by frontier developments to listen and learn what the community wanted and that made the game a greater experience then the last two installments.
New features: All the new features are very good, the breeding mechanics feel solid and natural while still giving the player chances to sit back and let nature run it's course. The babies are adorable and very fun to watch, I have seen some babies interacting with the mud terrain brush, (this could just be a wierd AI thing but) where a baby lokiceratops was jumping and bounding inplace and making mud print and repeating it, that was cute to watch even if not perpesful.
The new guest attractions like the hot air balloon and cruise feel smooth and natural but it might just be me but I feel like the dinosaur encounter was abit just okay nothing amazing but it still made the dinos, guests and the parks more alive overall.
Modular building feels like planet zoo but not in a weirdly good way but I can see people loving or hating how it feels. If your a brand new player you will be show some many options and items to place down and build with it may be overwhelming I know it was for me when I first opened up that scenery section. There are thousands of thousands of pieces to build with all you can filter down to get what you want and start creating with.
Sandbox: This is where I think the game is shining the brightest. The square maps are perfect each biome gets represented from temperate Japan to badlands and desserts of The USA. The abilites are endless in this sandbox mode I spend a total of 7 hours in the game 5 of those hours are in sandbox, the rest is in campaign mode which i will cover that late in this review. The creatice side of this game is perfect it is very easy to just stop snd get lost watching a beutiful park you made in about 20 minutes you can easily make breathtaking Habitats, building and landscapes in no time at all and they look amazing. If you put even more time and learn the mechanics more introcetly like I know some many people will in this amazingly creative community, they will come out with fantastic and dare I say perfectly made parks that not only look amazing to look at but work for something you would see in the films and or novels. By the way just to say you can make amazing path art and conctruct great and natural looking rock arches (looking at you Evo, injoy the game crazy path lady).
Challenge mode: Challenge mode has unfortunately taken the short straw when it comes to this game not having many challenges maps but also loosing custom challenges mode. But with every Loose this game takes it gives something back as someone pointed out to me (a smaller youtuber by the name of "at the edge of choas", please checking him out when you can he's a great guy.) he pointed out that those challenges mode exculive skins are gone replaced with challange mode statues in there place. I can see some challenge mode players feeling neglected or even forgotten by frontier but I know for a fact you guys will have a blast playing the game regardless. Please frontier show the challenge mode injoyers some love.
Campaign: To first start this off there will be no spoilers in this part of the review other then general overviews of concepts and ideas and core game play loop of the campaign.
The campaign feels like evolution one very fresh and new while still having that DFW vide from evolution 2. Cabet finch (voiced by Graham Vick) reprizes his role and he smashes it as usual along side Ian Maclom (voice by the one and only Jeff goldblum) both give there charactors there perfect edge and touch from evolution one and both feeling very much like there characters. Along side new face and new challenge. You as the park manger go from site to site helping DIN around world save facilities, start breeding programs and help failed parkes that popped up during the realese of dinosaurs on the mainland in jurassic World fallen kingdom and how the world is changing that was shown in both jurassic world domination and jurassic World choas theory. You are introduced to a group called Extinct now who follow a twisted and cruel view that is desguised as just helping natures course of making the dinosaurs extinct again. That's as far as I sm willing to go as the rest is getting into spoilers and some people want to play this game for the story like myself and others in the community.
The negatives: Now the hard part, for all this games praises and blessing there are still problems, most are easy to fix and most of you know what these are if you been around reddit or social media platforms of people say about rosters cuts, lack of semi aquatic speices and other things of that nature. But thing like makes my heart sink in know how hard devolping a game is it's really hard and not easy at all plus frontier to my knowledge wasn't financially doing great before they took on Jwe 3 as a project they had to let some employees go and stuff like which isn't great and for that I am whole heartily think they did a great job giving a high quality schedule to jurassic World evolution 2 it's gives me hope that after the games launch snd people start paying for dlcs and stuff that the game will get better with time and more resources and no universal studios forcing them to push out work so that the game comes out somewhat near the release of jurassic World rebirth.
My final thoughts: This game is good aim and simple, it's a great schedule to jurassic world evolution 2 and if you look at Jurassic world evolution 1 it's a huge leap in both quility and how far this community has helped and shaped this game and the games before it plus looking back at Jwe 1 over all shows how far this game has come and how far frontier has come in there developer and modeling skills and I can't wait to see what's next.
No game is perfect, that's a factual statement even if a game looks, feels and overwhelming is great it's never perfect to quate one of my favourite characters from a anime called bleach: "The perfect being, huh? There is no such thing as perfect in this world. That may sound cliché, but it’s the truth. The average person admires perfection and seeks to obtain it. But, what’s the point of achieving perfection? There is none. Nothing. Not a single thing. I loathe perfection! If something is perfect, then there is nothing left. There is no room for imagination. No place left for a person to gain additional knowledge or abilities. Do you know what that means? For scientists such as ourselves, perfection only brings despair. It is our job to create things more wonderful than anything before them, but never to obtain perfection. A scientist must be a person who finds ecstasy while suffering from that antimony. In short, the moment that foolishness left your mouth and reached my ears, you had already lost. Of course, that’s assuming you are a scientist" miyuri from bleach.
I hope you all injoy this game when it full releases to everyone on 21st October and thank you fir reading my review.
