For casual wear, if I’m not grabbing a pair of jeans, then I’m usually grabbing some chinos. Nearly all my chinos (J Crew, Buck Mason, OrSlow, etc) are a shade of olive green. I’d like to mix it up with some chinos in other colors. Not interested in Navy.
So that leaves khaki. I particularly have my eye on the J Crew Classic Chinos in “stone” which is a light khaki.
Whenever I think of khakis I think of the gap from the 90s and looking like a Target or Best Buy worker.
Any tips on how to pair khakis or make them somewhat fashionable? Inspo pics would be cool too.
Thanks!

I'm picking up a couple of pairs of pants on sale, one of which is light tan: https://www.ae.com/us/en/p/men/khaki-pants/slim/ae-flex-slim-lived-in-khaki-pant/1120_4578_207?menu=cat4840004&utm_campaign=nogender_high_general&utm_content=ae&utm_medium=pla&utm_source=google&utm_term=pmax
I'm usually a black/gray/blue pants person. I'm not sure what colors would look the best with these tan pants. Any advice or suggestions would be welcome.
At work I wear boots or shoes during the week, sneakers on Fridays. I don’t want to feel stuffy in my khakis. Any advice or examples?
