Hello! I’m looking for a solid recommendation for a good quality ghost tour in Edinburgh. It’s my first time there in about 8 years and I’m overwhelmed by the choices. So many exist now it seems! Traveling with my in laws who are interested in history and a spooky tale to go with the night time atmosphere. My main concern is finding one that doesn’t include things like jumpscares or have a big focus on shock factor. Just want some fun town folklore! We’re looking to book on a Thursday if it makes a difference. I’d welcome opinions and thank you kindly!

Mary kings close. Not a ghost tour but it goes under the royal mile where the really old Edinburgh is. The bits they covered over during the plague,with the sick and dying still living there. It's got some creepy bits and there's been some sighting/experiences there. Especially the little girls room Enjoy. Btw,ghost adventures ,the American one with Zac,done a program there years ago . It's on YouTube and worth a watch.

Well Mercat Tours is the first and the only 5 star tour company in Edinburgh, and they have exclusive access to the most extensive set of vaults of the South Bridge. The Ghost and Ghouls tour is only £14 per adult and is 2 hours of gory and real history and includes drinks in their underground Cellar. The Hidden and Haunted tour is the adult only 1hr tour which is £11 and includes paranormal happenings in the vaults. The newest tour they have is the Doomed, Dead and Buried tour, it goes to the underground and the Canongate Graveyard. Here is their official website. My source is my girlfriend Victoria who works for Mercat so again, slightly biased! I personally have been on a bunch of the tours and had a brilliant time and the guides are fantastic. August 13, 2013Last night on an Edinburgh ghost tour in one of the city's underground vaults, I took these photos moments apart. There was no one in frame irl. My friend and I saw the hooded figure in pic 2 only after the tour when reviewing our photos. We both felt someone touch our hair during this segment.

planning to visit Edinburgh
I plan to visit Edinburgh for 3 days, any recommendations where I can drive to close by places and all would be appreciated. I am on a visit to uk last time I spent a day and visited the Edinburgh Castle so am looking for other things.
I have heard about the ghost tours and am finding a lot of options, if any trustable and enjoyable tour you guys know of please do let me know and the spookier the better.

Drive over the bridge and admire the local wildlife and culture of Fife. Also if you go on one of the ghost tours be sure to ask for your money back if you don't see any ghosts as there are some chancers who will try and con you!
