For ML interview questions, just knowing the most important concepts + terminology from Intro to Statistical Learning is good (most interviews ask about classical techniques, so don't worry if you aren't a deep learning pro). Practical Stats is good for Prob/Stat conceptual questions (but doesn't exactly map to what interviews test... unfortunately at FAANG + Wall Street you will find the occasional probability brain teaser). Hi, I am planning to further enhance my Python skills for interviews related to data science roles.
I was thinking of using Leetcode

The only thing is that I'm not sure if the above 3 links are relevant and if they are even asked for data science / ML interviews.
Should I go ahead with this or look at some other platform that is focused on data science preparation?
P.S: I live in Europe so looking at the European job market

Those 3 links are relevant. Pandas is definitely relevant for quite a few jobs and may even be tested in some (not all) job interviews. Overall, having strong programming/DS&A skills is always beneficial for Data Science interviews. From what I hear from the people I met from Europe, the European job market can have varying interview styles much like the U.S. Some won't even test you. Some will give you a take home assignment. At large organizations and MAANG, they may test your Python skills through Leetcode or similar problems. So if your aim is for one of those, I'd invest some time into Leetcode preparation. At these companies, they may or may not test your Pandas skills. I would actually recommend that you can at least do (and genuinely understand all of the theory behind) all of the easy problems and some of the medium problems from Grind 75: https://www.techinterviewhandbook.org/grind75 Also, I would get comfortable with Pandas using that link you have. You can also apply during your study period. You may even see a problem you practiced the prior day on the day of your interview. If you pass the interview, bam! No more studying. If you fail, no worries! You now have more knowledge for future interviews. Best of luck; I believe in you!

I don't know much, but from my understanding you could try focusing on the database problems on leetcode. They're related to SQL and data manipulation. Could save you from wasting your time learning how to solve stuff not really that useful to DS. Anyways, good luck!! P.S. pls help me get 10 upvotes so I can ask my own questions lol.

A lot of questions seems to be more oriented towards software engineers, like graph traversals and dynamic programming.
My experience interviewing for my data engineering job (well funded startup) has been easier python questions not found on Leetcode, like string manipulations and easy questions using a python dictionary.
Since that is just one company, I wasn't sure how representative that is of all data engineering jobs.

Ideally, the data structures question doesn't make much sense for a data engineering job profile but there are still many companies who still ask these questions. What I have noticed is, if the interviewer is actually a Data Engineer itself then they would ask the related questions but if an interviewer is a person who hasn't worked as Data Engineer, it may be a manager or an analyst then they would ask typical DS questions.

What I’m doing so far is Leetcode easy to medium for DSA And leetcode medium to hard for sql And with some system design I say this because most companies see DE as a subset of SWE, hence you still need to be able to tackle problem solving. Also some also say DE isn’t a junior role. if you do leetcode, you can get into SWE, and eventually specialize in data . I don’t see how you can go wrong with it

So as the title suggest, I have been trying to solve a few leetcodes problems each day. Usually I target at least 2. My concerns are as of below.
In my little knowledge of data I believe leetcode is the best problem provider which are there in the real world and again I have this faith from hearing from different googlers and "data guru"
1.) Even though my answers are correct sometimes when I submit I get a wrong answer error. Why is that?
2.) Is leetcode enough if I want to make it into one of the FAANG as a data analyst?
3.)Data Analyst requires data visualization skillset also which Im already working on and using Python libraries such as Numpy and Pandas.
Would love to hear from all the experienced guys out there.

Short answer: No. Long answer: Noooooooooooo Leetcode does not resemble real life, even remotely. It is mostly trying to shoehorn SQL into doing largely non-sql things. Some of this is great for edge cases, but it does not remotely resemble the day-to-day. That being said, as an analyst especially in a data mature company, you probably won't need great sql skills - you will probably have access to relatively 'nice' data and a low- or no- code platform like Power BI or Tableau for your vis. You will also use a lot of excel. If you want to learn, create a project on a subject you're enthusiastic about, get all of the data you can into a local SQL instance, and use it to answer questions. That will much more closely resemble 'real life' than anything any of the online platforms will give you. Leetcode and the other platforms want identically formatted output, and the instructions are not always clear. It doesn't care how you write things, just what the output looks like. No. Most of what you need is business sense, the ability to requirements gather and interact with stakeholders, and some ability to deal with messy data. Leetcode and other platforms don't help with any of these things. ok.

Being curious about your data makes you a better Data Analyst. There are lots of datasets available in Kaggle and the like that are available for free. Pick some and just be curious. Develop a report, try to answer questions, use AI for hints on what to ask. Your knowledge will come from finding the best ways to get the answers to those questions. Prompt ChatGPT for something like “Prentend you’re an Executive and ask me questions about data that has weather conditions at airports” or whatever data you are able to find that interests you. Then just solve those questions! Be curious and inquisitive! The rest will flow. I have a YouTube series (recently started) where I walk through a dataset I’ve never seen, import it, and build a report and asking questions. Lmk if you want me to PM it to you.
