HI, I am trying to find an answer on this, and it proved harder than i though.
i have an esp-ltd, MH-200 - it's a fairly old one, pre 2000 i believe. The serial is behind the headstock, and it doesn' t a factory letter - serial is 99016910.
i tried to follow this method : https://killerrig.com/esp-serial-number-decoding-ltd-guitars/ - but it doesn't quite fit the logic.
does anyone as some insight ?

There are multiple LTD serial conventions. This one is a 1999 serial number. For reference, the original LTD serials (95-97) were in the end of the fretboard until 98. 98-99 had serial numbers on the back of the headstock like what you’re looking at. 2000 until about 2003 had a E, R, U factory code prefixes and 6 digits. The first digit is USUALLY the year (0=00, 1=01) but this convention seems to have changed based on the factory. The LTD logo was still the “pencil script” which changed in 2003 to the current “marker script” LTD logo. These serials then became 7 digits around the end of 2003 and then changed to the new and current serial convention that is used on all factories from China, Indonesia, and Korea.

These are unreliable. Serial number patterns change all the time. Nobody is faking LTDs. You don't have to worry.

Hi guys. How about this one W09120622? I'm not sure if the day of the week number has two digits "06". Or if the day of the week starts with 0 to 6, and my guitar is the 622nd, in which case would be impressive that amount of guitars for one day. Thank you!
