This is a review of my authentic black monogram initials reversible belt. Reversible means the buckle is removable and can be flipped so either the monogram canvas or black side of the belt can be worn on the outside. Overall I love the look of the belt but here are some things I would hope anyone who wants to own a louis vuitton, or any designer, belt be aware of. First off this is my first designer item I've ever purchased. I fell in love after borrowing a friends damier belt. Being my first designer item I was very skeptical to justify the price. I went to the store in late December which was kind of a bad idea, the mall was PACKED, and I felt rushed into the purchase. The first time trying on the belt I immediately noticed how light and thin it was. I did not try out the belt while sitting down which I should of. This is crucial as sometimes when I sit the belt becomes tighter. One major thing that I was skeptical about was the holes on the belt stretching. As with any belt this isn't something you can really prevent other than getting the right size. I wear my belt on the second to top hole, as pictured. It shows some signs of wear in the short amount of time I have owned the belt. 2 months and worn 1 to 2 times a week at most. Second thing that is very unfortunate about my belt is while removing it I accidently hit the bottom right of the buckle on my glass desk. It left a small scratch which followed with paint chipping every time I wear it. The paint seems to chip very easily and continues to grow in size. When this first happened i was mad but brushed it off since it wasnt noticeable however as you can see in the pictures it has gotten worse. The original chip was in the bottom side of the "L" And the chip has spread to the front side of the "L" after worn twice following the accident. I called the store and they said to bring it in and they will see what they can do. I do not have the time to do this and I will update on what happens but I do expect that they will charge me something, I really hope not but everything does have a price. Anyways I am overall not too satisfied. I love the belt but for the price it unfortunately seems as though this belt will wear down badly if worn frequently. With a $600 price tag I should be able to wear this daily without worry but I cannot. I will update what happens when I go to the Louis vuitton store to repair my buckle. Are expensive belts, like Burberry and LV, more durable than normal leather belts? Short answer: no. Longer answer: noooooooooo. While most luxury brands do use higher quality materials (leather + hardware) and craftsmanship, the absurdly high costs outweigh any tangible durability benefits. Straight up, you're paying for the brand name. If you like the brand and the style, then by all means go for it. No one's going to knock you for wearing a LV belt. But, it's not going to be inherently more durable than a $25 DIY veg tan belt from Tandy Leather or a $105 Tanner Goods belt . More on reddit.com

Tbh canvas on anything other than bags is a no go for me. I once bought a pair of canvas LV trainers and they ended up looking like garbage after minimal wears. The material just doesn’t age well when it comes to creasing, imo. More on reddit.com
