Magsafe Battery Pack Alternatives

There are tons of alternatives, I've never paid more than thirty bucks. Look for the ones with both a lightning port and a USB-C port. Found them perfectly reliable. (and trigger animation). I've got two of these, for example https://youtu.be/r2bOCRZ9x9E

Apple MagSafe battery pack charger vs a 3rd party battery case. I’m looking for a charging solution but every review I read is skewed to one end or the other of a spectrum. Anyone have any insight or recommendations?

I was between the anker and apple mag battery pack. I went with the anker because it has more battery and can charge other devices. There is almost no difference in charging speed and its half the price.

Best MagSafe battery packs 2025: I tested the best options to boost ...
Should I get a power bank or a MagSafe battery pack?
The answer to this question ultimately depends on your needs. Let's walk through it. A power bank can technically have MagSafe capabilities, and some MagSafe battery packs offer dual charging, but not all offerings are the same. Traditionally, a power bank refers to products without MagSafe capabilities, ones that rely on a lightning or USB-C cord to charge your iPhone and that cannot be affixed to your phone with a magnetic grip. These are great options for road trips, emergency charging situations such as power outages, or to store as a "just-in-case" item in your car, work bag, or home. On

Is MagSafe charging better for your battery?
MagSafe charging is great for when you need your phone to charge while you are out and about, making it a better option for some. Just be careful to pay attention to your phone's temperature, as the MagSafe pack can make your phone warm, which is not good for your device.

December 2, 2020 -

Hey ya'll, I asked this same question but it's been a while so maybe theres something new, but I wanted to ask if there are battery packs that are cheaper than the Apple one?

My only criteria personally is that it's cheaper than the Apple one, and that it triggers the Magsafe animation when attaching it, I just like to watch the animation.

My other question was, can anyone comment here or send a message, for a link for an NFC sticker to trigger these animations? If I can't find an alternative I may just try to make one on my own.

Thanks for reading!

Yes the apple one is twice the cost but to me, it’s worth it for the piece of mind and integration, and I can just ask apple if I need help.

March 30, 2019 - It’s damn near double the price of others, but I do like the “iOS intregration” (a NICE to have & NOT a HAVE to have) I do like how the Apple charger is smaller (I kept my 12 pro max in my pocket all the time (work & play phone) I read somewhere that the Apple MagSafe charger ONLY provides a “60% charge” for the 12 Pro Max. I also have a “SATIUS” MagSafe 5000Mah battery as well, it’s got the standard 4 LED’s which work just fine (WAY Bulkier, though) let’s all hope for Apple MagSafe charger 2.0!

r/MagSafe on Reddit: For those who got Apples MagSafe battery pack, are you keeping it or returning it?
July 9, 2019 - I feel like the anker one is a more tradition power bank in the sense that it has a output for traditional devices via usb c. In my opinion, the anker one is better if you want just that. But the anker lacks the stronger magnets. Magsafe when plugged in . The design, as well as the integration with apple devices. It is also bigger. The apple magsafe battery pack is more of a top up and maintainer accessory.

r/MagSafe on Reddit: Hello! I know there are probably a lot of discussion/thread about this. What would you recommend the best alternative for Apple Magsafe Battery Pack? 😅 Thank you!
September 17, 2020 - Its my understanding there is no alternative to the apple battery as is does not function as a battery pack but rather an external battery. Let me explain. Most battery packs will charge your phone internal battery while the phone continues to draw power from the internal battery. The difference with the magsafe battery pack is iPhone will actually draw its power from the external battery pack instead of charging/discharging the internal battery.

r/apple on Reddit: Apple "Magsafe" battery pack stinks
May 8, 2019 -

I love most Apple products. I somewhat agree with people saying they're overpriced, but if you can afford it, it's usually still worth it to me for the extra quality, thought into design, ease of use, etc. The "Magsafe" battery however is an exception. I bought this thing on impulse without doing any research on it prior because I got used and thought it was a good deal at half retail price.

First of all, it only wirelessly charges at 5W unlike the Magsafe charger which charges at 15W. The only thing that's "Magsafe" about this is that it has a stupid magnet. Cases with magnets already existed long before Apple came out with Magsafe, big deal. Secondly you cannot charge wired with it. This means you cannot take advantage of the iPhone 12's fast PD charging capabilities, you cannot charge your iPad, you cannot charge any other devices. Other portable batteries can and are way better suited for travel when you have many devices and are on the go, so you want to juice up as fast as possible. Lastly, it doesn't have any cool features like level indicator or kickstand.

This piece of crap should not cost $99. I paid $50 for it and frankly don't think it should be worth any more than $20. It is inferior to nearly every single other power banks out there. Anybody have any positive things to say about this product? Any redeeming qualities that would make me feel better about my purchase?
