It’s finally here! Introducing the mechanical numpad kit ZoomPad by Meletrix ✨ Meletrix is releasing the ZoomPad group buy soon, and you have no idea how thrilled I am to build it! I’ve been waiting for a high quality numpad kit, and knowing how much I’ve enjoyed the previous Zoom releases, I know this is going to be good. This is an ideal kit for anyone who’s been missing that numpad since getting into mechanical keebs, since we know that full-sizes aren’t as common in this hobby. It’s a convenient tool that you can easily store away whenever you don’t need it, and it doesn’t take nearly as much space as a full keyboard. ZoomPad features the same rotary knob design as in previous Zooms, and there’s also a 3-key cluster for the top row. Since it’s VIA-compatible, you can program those for any macro. Like the previous Zoom releases, ZoomPad comes with a ton of customization options. They are bringing back all the 14 essential edition colors and also the 5 special editions colors. There are 13 gorgeous backplates, and the color is matched to the case color you choose (you’re also able to buy them as extras). They’re also bringing back the cute custom knobs! But honestly how cute is the weight? Mine is an anodized gold one and it looks like a gold coin! It’s really tiny for a weight, but looks so aesthetic. The rest of the kit contains a hotswappable PCB of your choice, poron foam kit, plate of your choice, gasket sleeves, stabilizers, a battery and tools. The mass unit kits won’t include the carrying case, instead there will be an optional add-on case with a different design. October 6, 2024Suggestions for entry level custom keyboard with numpad?
Keychron K4's are swappable and really available. I snagged one about a month ago and is say it's a solid starter board. Otherwise Royal Kludge makes one in the same layout. Their RK84 was my first board and it's still my go-to at home. Also swappable and with lots of modding tutorials so you can really make it your own. I've done the foam and tape mod along with swapping switches and keycaps. The perfect foray into the hobby. More on reddit.com
