Your organization needs to be validated as a nonprofit with Microsoft: Start here to register and validate your nonprofit status. This is a prerequisite to access the benefits. This process can take a few days to a couple of weeks >https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/nonprofits

To get free certifications, you can participate in Microsoft's various skills challenges and events such as Microsoft Ignite Cloud Skills Challenge and Microsoft Build Cloud Skills Challenge. These events offer free certification exams upon completion of certain requirements. To claim your free exam, you need to select an eligible exam and follow the online registration process. You will need to sign in to your Microsoft Certification Profile or create one using a Microsoft account, confirm your details, and enter the email associated with your Microsoft Learn account and the email you used to register for the event. If you are eligible for an exam discount, you will receive a verification email to the address you entered. You must enter the passcode you receive in the email to proceed. After entering the correct passcode, you will be asked to link your accounts. You MUST agree to link your accounts to receive a discount. The next time you log in, if you are eligible for exam discounts for either of those accounts, the discounts will automatically be displayed. Choose the discount you want to claim and then continue to the checkout by clicking on the scheduled exam button. Follow the subsequent screens and provide the required details to schedule your exam. During the checkout process, verify the total amount due is $0.00 and submit the order.
