Pretty much what it says in the title – we are moving to Nashville and need to furnish essentially our entire house. What are some cost-saving ways that we can get quality furniture, mattresses, and a washer/dryer?
For example, I'm familiar with Habitat for Humanity ReStore (and of course with Facebook Marketplace). We will check out Habitat for Humanity once we are physically in Nashville.
I've also learned about mclemoreauction.com and shopssnashville.com.
Some of our favorite brands (like Crate and Barrel and Room and Board) have outlet stores in neighboring states. Is it worth going to these outlets? What about the Furnitureland South outlet in NC?
Is it cheaper to get a dining table custom made locally vs buying from a brand like Crate and Barrel?
Where else can we get quality furniture, mattresses, and appliances? Is there a good way to find out about estate sales? Are there wholesalers or liquidators that we should check out?
Is there anything we should be aware of by purchasing through alternatives like wholesalers – I assume the biggie is no returns and basically no customer service?
Thanks for the help/advice!
Does anyone have any more information on this project? I know it'll be condos + retail, but haven't heard anything about it and live in the hood, so I'm invested...
or will it just look like this for the next 5 years? 😂
