I am a grad student who needs to spend a lot of time on my desk. I have always thought that the traditional wheeled office chairs are not my fit and I feel comfortable with accent chairs (especially upholstered or barrel chairs) usually for living room decorations. They are cushy enough and so cozy, so I was thinking of getting one having a proper level to my desk. Besides they are aesthetic! Personally I don't prefer a wheeled chair moving here or there. Then, if I freeze wheels, they usually come to be harder to move than other chairs. Yet after researching, I just found that no one who is passionate about setting their workspace recommends or uses accent chairs for themselves. Besides, I have never seat on accent chairs for more than 4 hours. So maybe I got mistaken and my claim came from the experience of cozy and relaxing reading with those accent chairs. Now I am considering a chair for actual "working" in front of desk. Do you guys have opinions?
By the way, all the library chairs are like dining chairs or accent chairs. They must be placed there for people who are gonna study hours.
