There are two main reasons why i adore this movie so much. It was the first dinosaur/prehistoric movie i ever watched after getting intrested in dinosaurs and monster media in general. I am czech so seeing a dinosaur movie that was primarly made by other fellows czechs fills me with some sort of pride lol. More on reddit.com

I often hear people say that most (if not almost all) dinosaur movies are kinda dogshit, exept for the first films of the jp/w and the LBT franchises
(and occasionally,the third Ice Age film and Disney's Dinosaur, tought these are mostly seen as fine,while the first two are what I often hear people call masterpieces unironically)
While I haven't seen a lot of dino movies myself,I have a question,what are some unironically good dino films that aren't from the jp/w or LBT catalouge?It can be any kind of dino-film really

Unfortunately like you said a lot of paleo media outside of those franchises (hell even within those franchises) is dog shit. However, there’s some stuff worth checking out depending on what you are into. The old Ray Harryhausen stop-motion effects in movies like Valley of Gwangi are pretty cool from a technical standpoint. Same with Ghost of Slumber Mountain, one of the first stop motion films, and it’s available for free on Youtube. Peter Jackson’s King Kong has a lot of cool pseudo-dinosaurs in it as well (they are modern descendants of dinosaurs but still look a lot like their ancestors)

March 2, 2024 - This was my favorite movie as a kid, though I had the American cut, with cut and added scenes to the original, it is the only VHS I still have, didn't see the original version till much later. Amazing to see a fellow fan! ... I got the criterion triple feature for Christmas a few years ago. So glad this was on it! I remember the English version being a trailer on "Fantastic Dinosaurs of the movies" compilation video.

I'm looking for a movie with a spesific scene in it from my childhood. It's a 60's or 70's dino-movie I believe, akin to "1 million BC" and "When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth" The scene I remember is about a woman who hides from a Dimetrodon (maybe) I seem to remember it flicking it's tounge as it's passing by. The woman hides in what seems to be a harmless tubular plant, but it turns out to be carnivorous, and she uses a knife to get out of it. I've been loosing sleep over this so here I am, humbly asking for any help! Please and thank you
