All I knew was I liked the quirky ... cute! And although Goodreads says this is 460+ pages, I read it in 3 short days. Opposite of Always was a definite page-turner and a 'just one more chapter' kinda read......

She agrees to go but then never shows up. Jack is heartbroken until he learns Kate missed prom because she was in the hospital. She has sickle cell anemia, and though she knows of a doctor who’s developed promising cutting-edge treatments, her family can’t afford them.

September 10, 2020 - Chapter titles are bolded. ... We are thrown into one of the time loops. Jack is being held down by police. He thinks about how Kate is dying for the third time.

Lastly, despite Kate dying repeatedly, and Jack getting more and more frantic with each trip back, Opposite of Always is a deeply touching novel.

I read this over 450-paged book in two days because I just couldn't put it down and I always wanted to know what was going to happen next. Even though it's a thick book, the story moves on very quickly and you'll find yourself struggling to put it down! There was definitely a lot of "one more chapter" syndrome with this one.

July 16, 2020 - In terms of the layout, the chapters are short and the chapter titles are hilarious. I always looked forward to seeing what the next one would be, even as I was nearing the end. This was a brilliant tactic, as reliving the same events over and over has the potential to be tedious, but the layout made it move quickly.
