While it may have quality shows on there the ui is horrid and interacting with peacock as a user is frustrating at its best. I don’t understand how two massive companies, Viacom with parmount+ and nbc with peacock can have so many resources at their disposal but still create such terrible user experiences compared to Hulu and Netflix

What are some other streaming services that are good for the money? XUMO, IMDBtv, Pluto TV, tubi, the Roku Channel, Crackle, and Xumo (edit: Vudu) are all free and ad supported but should carry a lighter ad load than traditional cable/satellite TV do. Most have a "channel grid" like interface with live "channels". If you just want to scroll the dial and see what you see, they are good. But most of the content on them is not the buzzy, prestige content that you would see on HBO Max or Netflix or TBS - it's a lot of old re-runs or very limited teasers for a new exclusive show that you'd need to get a paid service like Paramount+ to watch. Maybe you're happy with that, or maybe you're not, but it's free! A big step up from these is the bottom tier of entertainment streaming on demand services like Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+. LOTS of content on these, and lots of it good, for $5-10/month. Maybe find your favorite of these, stick with it, and then add and remove others a month at a time when there's something you want to see. I have FUBO TV but is honestly a huge waste of money. At $70/mo, there’s nothing of interest to me except sports. What’s the cheapest way you get live sports games? Sports are driving almost all of the cost inflation of cable/satellite TV so if you want live sports from the major leagues on the major channels you are looking at getting a cable TV-like bundle of live channels for a cable TV-like price. Sling Orange or Blue, Hulu with Live TV, and Youtube TV are all at or slightly below Fubo's price. Depending on what you want it may be possible to go cheaper. If you're after something that you can see on ABC, CBS, Fox, or NBC, then the antenna is the free way to get live sports. There are some sports rights on ESPN+ for $6.99/mo and very limited sports rights on Paramount+ and Peacock. Finally, there are niche services like MLB dot tv and NBA League Pass, but these are usually either very expensive or subject to blackout restrictions that make the most valuable content unavailable (because it's already been sold to one of the channels in the big expensive cable TV bundle).
