Só por ter dignidade negativa de ter que ficar falando putaria com um monte de doente mental tarado o dia inteiro pra ganhar uma mixaria, já podia ganhar cargo de moderador do sub. Sorte do dia: não ser você

I know this has been asked before, but I’m looking for recent reviews of Ente photos. Are their privacy claims true? Is it definitely true that no one else can access the photos, not even the service hosts? Since it’s cloud based, does it mean my photos are stored on someone’s else’s computer and in theory they can access them if they want to? (Sorry if these are silly questions, I’m just trying to understand how it works)
I am looking for somewhere to temporarily store photos. I don’t self host. I’ve read all the threads about Ente and their audit reports etc., but I would still like to hear some real reviews.
Thank you!

I'm a real, paying member. I couldn't tell you whether they are lying or not, but they clearly have a reasonable profit model: receive money, provide service and software. You can even run the software yourself. They have stacked the deck in favor of being honest in regards to privacy. Their server and client code is open source, so if there are security issues, they should be visible. And if they get caught out pushing malicious software, that destroys the reason people would purchase from them to begin with. Ente is not better than Google photos if you are simply looking for the best tool to identify people's faces or locations... But it makes an incredible effort without compromising your privacy. Everything is encrypted client side but it still provides advanced features, which basically puts it as the gold standard for stuff of its nature. My biggest complaints compared to the few competitors it has: Caching isn't the greatest; if you have a ton of photos, and you scroll fast, you might have to wait for the app to catch up. But it is still leagues ahead of E2EE file managers that bolted on photo uploads as an afterthought. Deleting local files through Android requires two confirmations per file. This makes cleaning up your photo collection rather tedious. Immich may be faster, but you must self-host it. And Filen/Proton offer "drive" options but they aren't nearly as performant, and they lack features like showing your photos on a map.

I have been a longtime fan of them. I have done the free trial, and then trial ran the paid version for a few days this month, then requested a refund. I trust their privacy claims. Ultimately, the above complaints were true for me too, with the addition of: Had some very slow uploads, and yes, I do demand instant caching unfortunately Machine learning on faces is fair/good, but not "great" Desktop apps don't zoom in/out No month/year page sliding feature like on Google Photos Editing images on desktop or web (no issue on mobile) forces you to save a new copy of an image instead of direct edit, throwing the image to the top/recents instead of in the past. I want to edit a picture and overwrite it, always, NEVER a new copy. I complimented them, they are the best replacement right now, but I am not prepared for the jump in their current state.
