I'm looking for xeroxable images like woodcuts. public.work looks good at first glance, but is surprisingly hateful to navigate, is there anything like that but better?

I want to find public domain images to play around with.

I’ve used up unsplash before and it was great, wondering if there are more cool resources

Hello, I'm doing some research and would've loved to pull Public Domain Review's photos on Flickr here — https://www.flickr.com/photos/publicdomainreview/ — except things I search for give me few to no results. Am I doing something wrong?

I have been using Wikicommons, which has alot of good old and new public domain photos which are of course free to use. However as everything on there is user uploaded and things put on there are usually on uploaded to be Wikipedia articles themselves, it has a very limited library I find.

And looking up Public domain image websites, you get a bunch of different ones charging you $30 for stock images lol.

So does anyone know if there is such a place that hosts all/nearly all public domain images that are accessible for free, or is such a place in the same realms of Narnia in terms of its reality

I’m looking for artwork and photography pictures that are free use. Is there some sort of huge database of artwork, pictures of art, statues, nature, etc. that you guys can recommend ?

Say that you found an image that in Wikimedia or similar website it is stated that it is in the Public Domain, either because it was published before 1923 or because the artists has been there for more than 70 years (US).

How certain can you be that it is indeed the truth, and how likely are you to be sued by someone?

The best thing on there is the link to Yale's library The old west stuff is sort of what Im looking for.

I'm curious as to what everyone's experience is with using images that exist within the Public Domain at Redbubble. I know I've read a couple of posts where users complained their shop was shut down, and I've seen certain sites that require "significant alteration" of an existing image before you can utilize it. Has anyone had personal experience in utilizing Public Domain images, and in the case of negative experiences, which sites should be avoided?
