I haven't seen that specific method of validating, but the website looks valid: accounts.google.com. If Google doesn't have an office in Zimbabwe, the number has to come from somewhere. It obviously has decided to use an EU number, specifically Belgium. Without more information about the entire process, I can't tell you anything more. (Edit: Imgur didn't show me the first part of the video at first. It looks like you've done everything correctly.) If you've followed the process correctly from a valid Google website, it is most likely valid, and you can proceed. More on reddit.com

Hi, I'm not a technic person and defently not a phone guy, so someone help me please.
I tried to create a new gmail account, i filled out everything. Name, birthday, email-address.. And then it said i need to scan the QR code which appeard on my laptop.
But how I do that? Why I need to do that? Is this a new anti scammer method?
Do I need to make the account on my phone? Do I need to install an app to scann the QR code? I just tried it with the camera, but nothing happened.
