Hello I just jumped from my 7 year old iPhone 7 plus to the 16 Pro. What's the best case to purchase and your experiences with said case? Update: So I decided to go with this one from Best Buy https://www.bestbuy.com/site/zagg-crystal-palace-snap-case-lite-iphone-16-pro-clear/6589947.p?skuId=6589947

I finally updated my iPhone 12 and got the new iPhone 16 Pro. I had an otterbox x popsocket case that I loved, I used it the whole time I had the phone. It was a little cracked and chipped by the end but it was perfect. Protected my phone great - I could throw it, drop it whatever and have no issue. Plus the popsocket was indented so it would be less wobbly on a surface. Also it had a nice design. Sadly they don’t make those cases anymore so I’m wondering about other cases that are AS protective but look good. Also is there a good popsocket solution these days? Are the $30/35 MagSafe popsockets worth it?

sn: I don’t see myself using MagSafe much if at all, I like being able to hole my phone while it’s charging and don’t care about plugging it in.

Hey Guys,

As the subject states, looking for the best budget case (Less than $50) out there. I'm currently leaning towards a clear magsafe case since I have the ultramarine (blue) iPhone 16 color option and still want the magsafe magnetic capabilities.

Any feedback or recommendations would be super appreciated. Thanks!

I've never pre ordered a phone before but I'm doing it this time. I know case manufacturers are given dimensions so cases are available as soon as the phone comes out. But how do you know which is a good one since nobody has tested them yet? Any brands people really like that one could hope to assume would work well with the new model? I really want to make sure I have a case right away once it comes.

Been looking at a couple of cases. The Beats case looks interesting but I wanna see what everyone’s opinion is. So far I’m using the Bellroy leather case and it’s pretty good.

I'm waiting on my dbrand case pre-order to ship, so I got the three official Apple cases to see if maybe they didn't suck this year.

Clear case - Buttons are awful, soft and squishy instead of clicky like the other two cases for some reason. Also has a bottom cutout, which I don't love but it isn't too bad on this one since the material is softer. I really can't overstate how terrible the buttons on the case are though. It's bad enough that I wonder if I got a defective case or something.

Silicon case - No bottom cut-out, but fit isn't as secure as I'd like. I used the silicon cases for a long time until last year when I broke my phone screen for the first time ever on a short face flat drop onto tile in the official silicone case. I feel like this one would have the same problem due to a short lip and a slightly looser fit.

Beats case - My favorite of the three, but it's a little too slippery and the bottom cutout on a rigid case like this is pretty uncomfortable. It's also kind of ugly.

Camera control button things - These cases all have the flat capacitive camera control button, but I also got a cheap spigen clear case that just uses a cutout, and it doesn't feel much different to use. If anything, I like the cutout more because I don't accidentally press it.

Conclusion - I think the clear Spigen case on Amazon is better than any of these official ones for me.

September 14, 2024 -

I just preordered my 16 pro. I’m SOOOOO excited since I’m upgrading from a 13 pro max. I’m hoping for an Amazon rec if possible. But until I can get a ridiculous case (I’m waiting for the squishy butt case to become available for 16) I’m looking for a great case that works with the desert color of the new iPhone. I’m getting the new phone on the 20th, and also need a screen protector. I sure as sht wont spend 40$ on a screen protector or 40 on a case. So any recs? Thanks!!

I like a good case for my phone I have had spigen Casetify supcase just wandering what others use for there 16 pro I do like plain colours also can have cartoon kawaii etc etc just can’t seem to find one that I can stick to .. I do like the pitaka but they don’t look like they cover the phone very well and if I dropped it most likely wouldn’t protect I may be wrong. Be great to see what people have 👍🏽

Hi all, looking for guidance on cases. I’m looking for a case that offers superior MagSafe strength as I use a MagSafe car holder that I really like. I’m flexible on the design. I really liked the clear Otterbox Symmetry case I used on my 14 pro (very strong grip to my holder) until it started yellowing and then I dropped my phone and the back of the phone shattered. I haven’t had good experiences with the Apple brand clear cases in the past, either. There are some woodgrain cases I really like. Does anyone know of a brand besides Apple and Otterbox that have great MagSafe grip and offer outstanding protection to the phone? Thanks in advance.

What case are you guys using? I have the Apple Silicone case and it’s actually pretty crappy. I dropped it awhile ago and it cracked the screen protector. I ended up buying another screen protector and noticed it’s scuffed up again. You’d think Apple would make products that protects the side of the screen a bit more. It’s definitely my fault for dropping it but man I’m disappointed in how much protection it doesn’t have.

Edit: forgot to mention I have a privacy screen protector. I got a Flolab, dropped my phone and it cracked. I got the Zagg one on now and same thing happened. So privacy screen protector is the culprit. Appreciate all the comments and recommendations nonetheless. Will have to consider going back to a regular screen protector.
