Ryzen 3700x Max Single Core Clock Speed ?
Ryzen 7 3700x Safe OC
Ryzen 7 3700X Peak Speeds above 4100MHz
Ryzen 3700x clock speeds?
By safe OC, I mean I don't want to push it to the limits. I want it to run cool, stable, and get good clock speeds. I have a katana 5 tower cooler "cheap not very good. But I assume it's better than stock one."
Should I bother changing the clock speed and voltage or just let them stay at stock speeds?
MOBO "MSI B450-A Pro Max" again, nothing fancy here.
Is it possible to clock it to 4.4 GHZ and stay safe with what I currently have? Or should I fix it to something like 4.2 or 4.0 and give, I don't know low voltage that can handle that and stay cool at the same time?
you might already noticed that I'm not very good at oc'ing and stuff. but any help is appreciated. I currently have 1600x which was running 90+ degrees on stock settings. That's why I fixed that CPU's clock speed to 3.6 with a low voltage, and I'm basically getting more or less the same performance but my CPU is staying nice and cool at 50-60 degrees at max. This is what I'm after.
Recently got a 3700x and I've been playing around with the settings.
I tried manual OC but it wasn't worth it for me so I just went with Precision Boost Overdrive and my CPU is just hitting 4.1-4.2 GHz under load. I have the same result with just the default (load optimized defaults) settings. The temps seem to be norma as when I was stress-testing it with Ryzen Master it hit 67 °C (I have a Coolermaster 120 Liquid Lite).
Additionally, I have a 2070 Super OC to 1995MHZ and 7900 on memory and 32 GB of Ballistix Sport LT DDR4 (16-18-18-36 stock, can OC to 3600 16-17-16-36, tried both), mobo is Aorus Elite x570 with the latest BIOS.
Have got the latest Win10 and AMD drivers so I was wondering, are those low clocks normal or did I just get really unlucky with my chip?
I anyone would know how to fix it or get some better performance out of it I would really abranchiate it!
Update:
For some reason, PBO was limiting my frequencies to like 4.1 or 4.2 at times but cracking the voltage way up, causing my temps to reach 75 degrees. So I disabled it and tried manual OC. Rn running 4.3 stable on all cores with 1.328V I think and RAM is at 3600 16-17-18-18-36 1.37V
Cinabench score is now 5050 or higher consistently. And the themps are around 70 now not 75 so idk what was causing PBO to do that.
Don't know if others have experienced that with PBO or I'm just very unlucky.
Hi I bought the 3700x and it boosts to just under 4.2ghz on all cores if someone can tell me if that is ok because it does say it is meant to be 4.4ghz.
Hello, I just overclocked my Ryzen 7 3700x from the BIOS to 4.25 with voltages in AUTO, so far so good. The problem is that when the processor is idle without doing anything on the desktop... It also runs at 4.25 frequency. I remember overclocking my old Ryzen 7 2700 in the same way and the frequencies at idle dropped. I already tried the offset MODE and it's the same, the frequency and voltage do not drop at IDLE. Is there a solution to this?
I recently just built a PC with the Ryzen 3700x and noticed that whenever I open chrome or simple tasks the fan always gets loud. I also noticed that it's been clocking at a constant 4,300 Mhz even when its idle. Is this normal?
I've just built my new PC and everything's working great after ironing out a few issues, besides the clock speed of the CPU.
On the desktop, it sits between 1-7% CPU usage but is running at 4-4.1Ghz Clock speed and doesn't downclock to reduce the idle temp which is around 50 - 55 with the stock cooler, a little on the higher side for my liking. My case has plenty of fans too.
I've looked in Bios and the Ryzen Master software etc without any luck, in addition, I've changed Windows Power settings to Balanced, to allow minimum CPU Usage to 1%.
Any tips to help solve this would be much appreciated.
For reference my components are here if anyone knows anything Bios specific etc - https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Matthius_/saved/#view=zVzBZL
Thanks.
