Unless you don't care abut updated the S21 series won't get any more updates after UI7. Only the FE is elegible. $250 is ok but the risk is the phone is prone to vertical line issues due to cycles of overheating and cooling. If you also plan to use it as a dedicated Dex device then vertical lines won't be as much of a concern. Try to get a S23 FE or if you insist with the S21 then try for a FE variant as it will be elegible for another year worth of updates but you still have the risk of vertical lines. More on reddit.com

My current Xiaomi device has many issue, So Now I'm planning to switch to Samsung mobiles. I heard that many of the Samsung Mobiles have Lines issues, Some people say it might be software update issue & some people say it might be Hardware issue due to overheat in Display Connectors failure. It's really making me afraid to buy a Samsung mobile. Whatever, I really want to buy a Samsung Mobile. I have 2 options to buy, S10+ or S20 series, These 2 are in my budget List. S10+ seems little older & S20 series have Line issue. I'm here to ask your Opinion about S20 series, If you have any Issues with S20 series such as line issue, battery life, etc, Please Comment your opinions, Or S10+ will be the right choice in 2024?

I have a note 20 ultra, I use it for dex regularly. It's a exynos. I don't really notice overheating for pretty much anything. The times i notice overheating I'm usually doing a lot of stuff with the phone. That usually means discord call + VPN + parsec, or something like that. For simple stuff like using remote acess, watching videos, using the web browser (which is what i recommend you do if want to do some work with office like tools), playing games i dont notice anything at all.

I have been continuously checking out old flagship phones that I can consider buying (used) for at least around $250. S21's one of my choice; however, when I asked someone about getting a S21 for 256GB, they said they wouldn't suggest it due to certain reasons:
a) Green line issue (which has been the most dealbreaker for Samsung midrange and flagships for the last four years) b) Thermal throttling issues for both Exynos and Snapdragon variants of S21.
However, I am just buying one to try, mainly for daily use, such as social media and photography. What do you think guys? Do you also agree that S21 is not worth it due to the risks it hold? Or are there any alternative phones you would suggest for the price range? I might consider buying an iPhone XS or 11 for the same price point.
