[MIC] Samson Q2U USB/XLR Mic with Podcast Pack $45.94

I have this mic, and it’s REALLY good for the price especially if you’re gaming/recording in a noisy environment where a condenser mic would pick up a lot of background noise. Shipping is free if your order is over $49, so I’d recommend buying something cheap like a longer USB cable, extra windscreen or whatever you need. Tax may or may not be charged depending on what state you live in. AMA if you’d like to know anything else. *edit I paid $59 for it back in March, and even then it was a good deal. Blue snowball VS Samson q2u, best beginner mic ?

I would definitely recommend the Samson Q2U. I currently own 25 of them they are the perfect beginners podcasting microphone. One of the biggest reasons I’d recommend the Samson over the blue is the Samson is a dynamic microphone versus the blue which is a condenser. Dynamic microphones are less sensitive so you have to get closer to the microphone to get good quality. (It’s recommended 4-6 inches away from the mic) but this helps reduce ambient noise especially if recording in non-acoustically treated rooms. More on reddit.com

which is better :Samson q2u, atr2100x, or ???

Depends. All ATR mics have a limited lifetime warranty from Audio-Technica. The Samson has 2 years. The ATR2100X is 24-bit and has USB C or XLR as a connector. The Q2u is 16-bit and mini-USB or XLR. I don't know if this applies to the ATR2100x but the damn ATR2100 has a blue fricken Eye of Sauron LED that can be seen from orbit, the Q2U has a muted greenish/amber LED. The Q2U sounds like it has a lot more bass. ! More on reddit.com
