r/SamsungPay on Reddit: How do you actually /add/ funds to the Samsung Pay Cash Card?
January 30, 2020 -

Like the title says, how do you actually add funds to that card? There's a promotion going on where you can get a $10 cashback reward if you make 2 or more purchases. I want to do the promotion but in order to do so I need funds on the card.

When I go to the 'Add Money' section, I can pick the amount but then it tells me to add a debit/credit card. When I add a card, it tells me that card is already in Samsung Pay (because it is) and then returns to that screen. If I add a card that is not in Samsung Pay, it adds successfully but then still returns to that screen.

Any suggestions?

You can only do mobile wallet atm withdraws if its your banks ATM. I know BOA, Chase, Wells Fargo, US Bank, Navy Federal (hardware present but not sure if activated yet), and like various regional banks or banks that have installed new ATMs in like last 4 years or so have the capability to have a phone tapped on them but all the ATMs that have the feature require that the card tapped be from the Bank that owns the ATM. As far as cash back at stores goes u/Dpecs92 is correct in that you do have to use MST and not NFC (if the retailer accepts mobile wallets) but 1. if they accept mobile wallets 7/10 times the cash back request will result in a card decline 2. NFC is automatically turned on when you enter payment mode but the range is short so just keep it away from the screen and near where the card is swiped. 3. your card issuer will determine if you can get cash back at a store and Target in my experience is the easiest place to get cash back using SPay. Finally: AVOID SAMSUNG PAY CASH LIKE IT IS THE PLAGUE OR A NEW COVID-19 VARIANT. Let me say it again one more time: Avoid Samsung Pay Cash like the plague because it is a plague and its littered with fees and all kinds of dumb bullshit. Its so bad and Samsung knows it so they rolled out Samsung Money (which is by So-Fi and damn good) to replace it but they couldn't just say poof and delete it so its still around as a zombie just so you can send money to other galaxy users but theyre are far batter ways to send money. Pay Cash ain't it. and also no it does not allow ATM withdraws or cash back if i remember correctly. Pay Money does allow cashback and ATM access with the physical card (cause they dont have ATMs) and i believe that they do refund ATMs fees if you meet certain account benchmarks or requirements.

Bank of America ATMs are able to process mobile payments, AFAIK they're the only ones with a tap thing in addition to card reader. You can use any card obv but will have to pay a few bucks fee. Or you can get cash back at most grocery stores and cvs. With cvs, I have to turn off NFT from the pull down menu AFTER initializing the transaction in SPay or else it reads as a mobile payment and doesn't offer cash back. Same with Walgreens most of the time so I always do it now when needing cash back just to be safe. You can only get $40-50 at a time doing this but the BofA ATM will let you take out your bank's max daily amount allowed in one transaction unlike the shitty ATMs in convenience stores.
