I see on Amazon that there are these “starter kits” for podcasting. Are any of these actually worth buying or should I buy my gear piece by piece? I have zero experience with podcasting and I’m only just starting to look into equipment.
Hello everyone! I have completed my college sometime back, did some internship and i want to get into podcasting. Apart from a good mic, what else do you guys recommend i should have in my podcasting "startup" kit.
I have a Total Budget of around $250-$300.
Zoom podtrak p4. 2 to 4 mics. 2 to 4 headphones. A good saw to edit the tracks such as audacity. An idea and a plan.
If you’re a solo podcaster any USB mic should do the job. You can look up Samson Q2U or Sennheiser Profile Mic (my personal favourite). Buy any decent headphones. And just with this you’re ready to go. In fact my personal set up has just the Sennheiser mic and Bose AE2 headphones.
If it’s a 2+ people chatting/ recording then you need an XLR mic; I’d look up Sennheiser 835 or MD 435 (I have this as spare). And any audio interface like Scarlet 2i2, Evo4 or Evo 8 and there are many more. Just search for audio interface on Amazon and you’ll get the list. Hope this helps!
