the costco version of the Shark PowerDetect is not a duo head at all. Simple single roller design. Notably cheaper $150 range, but how much will you lose compared to the IP3251 new duo roller head??

I just bought one of these from Best Buy for an effective $360 ($400 sale and extra 10% cardmember appreciation). I hadn't seen many reviews on it, probably because it's so new, so I was nervous. No need to be nervous: it is amazing!

I thought all of the fancy Detect things would just be gimmicks, but they really do make a difference. Dirt detect helps battery last a lot longer; I vacuumed hardwoods and area rugs for over a half hour and it was flashing 1 bar of battery, but still going. Edge detect is incredible because it kicks on and really does pull in dirt off the baseboards in ways no other vacuum has for me. Even light detect is nice because the light is always on the show dirt in front of the vacuum, but light detect also helps light up the room if it is dark.

I've had two Shark Navigator LiftAways. When I bought the second one, I noticed that they kept the general design the same over the years but improved the engineering on a few things (like adding structural fins to plastic parts prone to breaking) so I've been a Shark fan since noticing that. My previous cordless is a Bissell ClearView XR which was neat, but not super effective.

My area rugs feel like new. So much nasty dust was pulled out of the fibers. And the fins of the roller fluffed up the fibers. Seriously my rugs haven't felt this soft in years. This vacuum is amazing.

100% do yourself a favor and get the Clean & Empty version. Having a base to put the vacuum in which pulls all the hair and dust without any of it going into the air is such an improvement. With the Bissell, I'm always holding my breath when I empty it, my garbage can gets dusty, often I spill on the floor by accident. With this new Shark, it sucks it all down (base, then the vacuum does a little rev, then base again quickly) and I supposedly should only need to empty once a month, which means it is going to the outside bin no problem. Oh, and it charges from that base too so it's always ready for you.

Can't recommend this vacuum enough! Hope this review helps; I would've appreciated finding one before purchasing so I wasn't nervous for no reason!

Posting first review - hopefully it helps someone! I purchased the Shark PowerDetect Reveal (IP3225) from Costco about 3 weeks ago and have been using daily ($349.99 on sale -$90 Nov. 2025). It's a great vacuum and I would say best all around option on a low-mid level budget (<$500). I have 2 long haired dogs who shed like crazy. My apartment is 2bed/2bath about 1400 sqft hardwood with 2 large area rugs.

My existing equipment: I have a Shark Navigator DLX corded vacuum and the Shark Matrix Plus robot vacuum (UR2360S also from Costco). Each one serves a different purpose and does it very well, but I needed a good cordless for daily hassle-free adhoc cleaning. The Navigator DLX is my go to for carpets. It is extremely powerful and effective (it basically tries to eat the carpet) but is heavy, bulky and inconvenient for quick use. The Matrix Plus robot vacuum is great to run while I'm out and picks up all of the pet hair without me lifting a finger, but it is slow-moving and not intended for quick cleaning. The PowerDetect Reveal fills every gap with equal performance.

PROs: The auto empty is a newly discovered must have for me, so this has been great. Always ready to use, keeps the vacuum clean, and odors out. Worth the extra cost for sure. It performs great on carpets and cleans everything out (pet hair, debris, fluff, dust etc) in 1 or max 2 passes. It is just as good as my Navigator DLX for the area rugs. No complaints on hard wood, it picks up hair, crumbs, small debris etc. in the first go and the detection light is effective. The surface auto detect is pretty quick moving between hardwood and carpet, has never gotten stuck rolling over a higher surface. The actual roller head has also never gotten tangled and is removable if needed. The edge detect suction increase works surprisingly well. Battery lasts long and I've only gotten it down to about ~50% cleaning most of my apartment (given it is still new). The non-motorized brush attachment tool surprised me a lot, I wasn't sure about the shape at first but it works REALLY well to lightly brush over furniture surfaces and pick up crumbs/hair without knocking things over or getting stuck. Finally it's from Costco... if anything goes wrong I can return it, but I said the same about the Matrix robot vacuum and am still very happy 2 year later.

CONs: does not have the DuoClean roller brush. Honestly I don't see a need for it, just seems like another piece to break and absorb battery power without much benefit. It doesn't stand up on its own. I didn't realize this until after and it is a bit of a pain as I often need to stop vacuuming to move something out of the way. The only way is lying the vacuum down on the ground or leaning against something. The small motorized roller/brush attachment sucks! It is rubber and gets caught / dies on every fabric that is even remotely loose. I think it will only work on tight fabric (like a car seat or chair) but have yet to find a use for it. The vacuum is a bit heavy/bulky and doesn't maneuver sharply, but not a major complaint due to how well it performs overall.

They have two different model numbers and different colors (and price) but same title. What is the difference?

I was thinking about getting the Dyson V15s, but I’m not sure I really need the mopping feature. While browsing around, I came across Shark and ended up watching a few YouTube videos comparing different options. Now I’m kind of leaning toward the Shark Power Detect Cordless, it doesn’t require switching heads between hardwood and carpet, and the suction looks just as good as the Dyson. I’ve never used a Shark before though. or should I stick with Dyson? Anyone have experience or thoughts? Would love some input. Thanks!
