Hello my sisters! I posted recently about looking for a "non-wedding" dress for my wedding next April. On the recommendation of folks here, I've been checking out the Shein website for options, and they do have a lot of lovely dresses! I had never actually heard of Shein before I wandered into this sub and I've got a couple of questions for those of you who wear their clothes. First, as to size, I'm currently a slightly pear-shaped size 24/26 in US women's sizes (of course depending on manufacturer...grrr!). Here are my questions:

• All the dresses I've seen on Shein generally run to a 4X, which they say is a size 20. However, the pics on user reviews, many of which include the weight and measurements of the reviewer, show that some of these ladies are larger than a size 20 - for example, I was just looking user pics on this dress, and a couple of the reviewers listed their weight at 300+ on a 3X or 4X dress. There's no plus size clothing I know of in which a woman at that weight would fit into a size 20 US dress, so I'm a little confused by Shein's sizing. What is your experience with this? Do the dresses vary in sizing to that degree and Shein just labels them a 4X? In my size range, I generally wear 2X or 3X depending on manufacturer, so I'm confused here as to what size to actually order!

• One thing that's been quite surprising to me is the incredibly low cost of their dresses. I currently have 5 very pretty dresses in my Shein shopping cart and the total cost is less than $100! What's the quality like? I see so many people here recommending them who say they love Shein clothing, but the costs are so low it makes me wonder about the quality of the fabric and manufacturing. I will say that if I could actually pay $30 for my wedding dress, I wouldn't care so much about buying a dress I'm only going to wear once (it does seem wasteful, but I could also give it away on Facebook Marketplace, too.)

I’m an US size 4x and I see so many cute clothes on SHEIN but I don’t know if they are true to size, I know when they first come out definitely not, what about in 2022?
