I used to use in karate, made some maps in proud of, but switched over to dungeondraft/wonderdraft and haven’t looked back, they’re so damn nice and they allow you to import custom assets, something I marinate was definitely missing for me. More on reddit.com

Do you need a map making tool ? A white background with tokens is basically a white-board or a sheet of draft-paper. It tends to be common tool in role-playing. If you play online, simple application like roll20 does it pretty well without the need for loading a detailed-high-quality map
