I've used adjustable Sleep Number beds in the past, and they've been reasonable. For a low-budget alternative, there are places that sell various "wedges" that allow you to elevate some portion of your body. One I would recommend is "Sleepnitez". I have a wedge that I take on trips so that I can elevate in hotel beds (due to reflux issues). You can also buy various-sizes wedges at medical supply places. More on reddit.com

June 23, 2023Has anyone bought an adjustable base from Amazon? They seem much cheaper on there than at Sleep Number.
As far as compatibility yes it will work. There are some big differences as well. The sleep number base attaches with secure straps so there’s no shifting and sliding. There are also the timers and the built in under bed lighting. I will say the most important product would be the mattress so if it makes more sense budget wise to get the Amazon base then go for it. My husband and I plan to get a new bed. We’re looking at the split king. My husband prefers hard mattress I like soft. My husband snores like a fog horn and I can’t sleep. My body can’t take the bed we’re in currently and I’ve stumbled upon the sleep number bed. We’ve both said the price is worth it if it truly helps us both sleep and makes our overall living better. Now my question is, is it worth it? We’re looking at just under $10,000 between the mattress, frame, and sheets. Did you find your life/sleep improved with the mattress? Is there something you’d do differently?

I have an i8 sleep number bed, I don't think I could sleep on another kind of bed, honestly. I'm always surprised when I see all the people hating their sleep number beds. I have autoimmune issues and lots of pain in my back, neck, hips, etc., and being able to adjust the bed depending on how I'm feeling is so helpful for my pain. I can't speak to the snoring, but it definitely has helped me pain-wise. I also had really good customer service from them, just my experience.
