Competition. It's not just a buzzword. In order for the consumer to get the best product, there needs to be competition. Microsoft saved Apple (look it up) to make sure they weren't the only vendor in the market. Google is going to have issues because they pushed too many competitors out of the market. Sony wants Xbox and Nintendo to continue to be successful, just not in first place. Microsoft wouldn't buy Sony because it doesn't fill a gap in the Microsoft portfolio and would remove a primary competitor off the board. With only Nintendo Switch as a competitor, we'd be back to "monopoly" talk, just like what's happening with Google. More on reddit.com
Being the richest company in world with $3.3 Trillion, why Nvidia not develop their own games or buy, let's say Sony Playstation?
They're valued at 3.3 trillion. That doesn't mean they actually have that. More on reddit.com
Nintendo is Currently Japan's Richest Company. Sony not on List due to Debt.
It's pretty well known that Nintendo has a fortress balance sheet amongst Nintendo investors. Even for the normally conservative Japanese companies, Nintendo is very very conservative. More on reddit.com

The market cap isn’t even the metric you want to look at. MSFT has $78bn in “cash on hand” meaning they could finance about 40% of an acquisition (assuming a premium $200bn-ish buyout price) with liquid assets. But… it’s never gonna happen. The EU and FTC might have relented and let Blizzard-Activision happen but Sony would be a whole ‘nother level of anti-trust.

January 19, 2022 - Much like Xbox and Microsoft, trying to get a feel for what kind of war chest PlayStation is working with requires you to also look at what Sony’s current market cap is. While Sony is obviously focused on so much more than the PlayStation brand, PlayStation’s recent revenue figures and estimated net worth show that they’re certainly a big part of that company.
