both Ms Office and Google Docs support dictation now, so either a Google account or an Office365 membership will be good. The gold standard with JAWS is still Dragon and J-Say I think, but they are very pricy. More on reddit.com

Looking for a Voice to Text Program that I can use in all programs
I use TalkText for macOS instead of built-in dictation. The built in one would capture all my spoken mistakes, umms, uhs, etc. It drove me nuts!! More on reddit.com

Anyone here use speech to text for writing?
I use Braina. It's cheaper than Dragon. And it's more intuitive. And it's easier to use. You can also use it in word or anything else your dictating to, any third party app. So it's more versatile. More on reddit.com
