It seems mous have been pretty scummy lately and won’t honour warranty+there’s an increasing amount of their cases breaking or deforming. For a case that expensive it seems ridiculous. I’ve used spigen for my 14 pro and now 16 pro and it’s great. I’ve also used the beats case and a pd case. All three brands have amazing warranty and they’re great cases. I’d be going for spigen or pretty much anything that isn’t mous or Casetify. Answer from Expensive_Profit_106 on reddit.com

r/iphone on Reddit: Best protective case for iPhone 16 - mous or spigen?
July 27, 2025 -

Hello! I wondered if anyone could recommend the best protective case for someone who is relatively clumsy. I drop my phone quite often, and am looking for a good case for a new iPhone 16, accounting for the camera button and how easy it may be to break.

I used Casetify for my last 2 phones, and it was amazing for my iPhone 11, but my iPhone 13 Pro broke after a few drops ...

These are the options I have been considering, potentially a combo of two:

  • Spigen tough armour (black) £19.59

  • Spigen ultra hybrid T with camera control (clear) £17.49

  • Spigen ultra hybrid (clear) £11.30

  • Mous Limitless 6.0 with camera control button £54.99

  • Mous Limitless 6.0 £49.99

Accounting for prices too, does anyone have any advice? Thanks :)

r/iphone on Reddit: A strong non Apple clear case? Spigen Ultra Hybrid vs CASETiFY Ultra Hybrid
July 8, 2022 -

TLDR - from my lousy YT research these two were the best clear cases? I prefer the aesthetics of the Spigen, but is the CASETiFY case stronger? Given life if a case, difference in price not a concern.

Thanks

Long time iphone user here, in the early years my cases of choice went from Otterbox to Tech21, later Rhinoshoeld as I was quite active. After several injuries about 10 yrs ago I saw no point in protecting a phone for activities I couldn’t engage in and hence stuck with Apple OEM silicone and leather cases.

Well after years of recovery I’m active again and looking for a clear case with decent protection.

From my brief YT viewing of 13 pro max cases the top 2 were the Spigen Ultra and the CASETiFY Ultra.

To me the Spigen with clear sides looks better but I’d be willing to take the price/looks hit for more protection.

May 27, 2025 - Choosing the right iPhone case can feel overwhelming. With so many brands promising protection, style, and cool features, how do you know which one is best? Two popular options are Casetify and Spigen, but they’re very different. In this guide, we’ll compare Casetify and Spigen in details.

Is it overpriced? Yes, but I don't regret one bit getting this case. I have long looked for a premium, good looking, Magsafe compatible case and the candidate list was pretty short.

This case ticks all those boxes for me, it feels amazing, a lot of protection, very grippy and very strong Magsafe.

I live outside the US so Dbrand is not easy to get. Other options are mous and other aramid fiber cases which are about $60 and not worth the price. I paid about $40 which I'd say is not a bad deal.

Yes, there’s other posts about this company on this thread. But if I can save one person their money this is worth writing. Casetify has Abysmal quality control. Any case you get (at least semi-transparent ones) start to come apart at the seems very quickly. After 4 cases this has happened each time, sometimes within a day of use and sometimes after a couple months. Google and you will find it’s a common problem. The plastic bordering the camera that has their own logo on it also cracks very quickly. Ten day return window should have been a red flag to me. If you ask for a warranty replacement they will honor it ONCE but will not warranty that replacement case even if it starts to fall apart 3 days later. If you push back on this they’ll send you another replacement but won’t give you a refund, which doesn’t help since it’s a recurring quality problem. Super disappointed since they have cute designs and they’re expensive af. Better off getting a brand like Speck and putting stickers on it. I’ve had $10 Amazon cases last far, far longer. You also have to EMAIL them in order to leave a review on their website, which explains how they have no 1 star reviews on their site. Very misleading.

r/iphone on Reddit: Is Spigen a high quality case and screen protector combo? Or should you be spending more.
September 27, 2022 -

I’m looking for a clear case and to get the best protection without losing the look of the iPhone 14 Pro. And a good quality screen protector.

I was looking at buying the Spigen Ultra Hybrid and the Spigen EZ fit screen protector. I’ve had that same brand’s screen protector on my iPhone 11 for almost 3 years and it’s been great and I’ve used their clear cases too.

Anyone try Casetify?

But is it significantly better to buy the Otterbox symmetry clear or the Mous Clarity and then a FloLab’s screen protector? I’ve been seeing everyone talking about them. I don’t mind spending extra money if it’s worth it, but is it just a marketing ploy with influencers? Opinions?

You would expect that for an average of $100 per case they would provide some good quality items… Unfortunately, they do not. I know that there are plenty of posts about the designs chipping away, but my issue has actually been that the plastic has broken without misuse. It has done it on two separate cases now, I bought the first one in DECEMBER. I’ve reached out to them but per their policy, there is only one free replacement. I actually asked them if they were to change the case to the rubber one, even though it was uglier, and they said that it was outside of their policy so now I’m out of pocket and out of a case (unless I enjoy having my hand stabbed when I go to use my phone). Learned my lesson the expensive way!

Casely vs Spigen*

I need some advice based on others' experience.

Context: I bought two Casely Bold Flex MagSafe cases (BOGO) and ended up also buying a Spigen Rugged Armor MagFit to tide me over until the Casely cases arrived. The Spigen is thin and has an amazing magnet (I can let my phone hang out on the front of my fridge level hold) but is also plain and thinner than what I'm used to. (Thinner isn't necessarily bad, but I'm coming off a Lifeproof Fre on my old phone and always bought Otterbox cases before then.) The Casely cases are beautiful and look like their protection should be similar to the Commuter, but the magnet is awful (two gentle shakes on my car mount dislodged the phone so with the number of potholes I encounter I'd have to go back to a different mount with it) and while they're only about an ounce heavier, they feel more cumbersome to hold.

If the Casely will offer superior protection, I can live without the MagSafe mount, but does Casely actually offer better protection or should I be okay with the Spigen? I don't generally abuse my phone (and I will have AppleCare+), but I do occasionally toss it across the room accidentally from talking with my hands and occasionally drop it from about hip height. What experience have you all had with them, good or bad?

I have had 2 Casetify cases, and both have had the sides peel away from the plastic backing of the case after a year. For the price, they should last far longer than a year.

Credit where credit is due, they have protected my phone through many drops.

I used Speck a long time ago but have since switched between casetify (never again) and Otterbox. I'm not sure if Speck are still regarded as a good phone case.

I'll be getting the 16 Pro Max in a few weeks, upgrading from a 13 Mini and my Otterbox case is falling apart.

Is there any other brands apart from Speck I should check out? More for durability than anything.

Historically I've been using Spigen a lot. It feels protective and slim. I've never had trouble with them. I know people bring up Caseology quite a bit but I think they are a bit more expensive. I've seen cases where the mag is a part of it. I've seen brands like Torras and Makavo but I've only ever seen these brands on Amazon lol. And they are always in upper case. What do you guys get and what do you think about those cases with the mag built in?

Edit: wow its really clear a lot of you here only read the title of the post and not the content...

My partner and I have both recently bought the iPhone 15. I’ve had BURGA Tough cases with my previous iPhone 11 and loved them, but they’ve gotten SO EXPENSIVE in the past few years!! There’s lots of hype around Casetify, so I just wanted to hop on here and ask for people’s experiences with both phone case brands and see if Casetify might be worth trying out or if I should just stick with my tried-and-true BURGA cases. TIA 😊

Edit: Thanks for all the responses so far! Just for reference: we don’t pay for Apple Care and I think £40 (roughly $50) is about the max we’re willing to pay for a good protective case
