Commenting just to add that same happened to me trying to get duo for me and my VERY long distance boyfriend, and so far it seems to have worked with just inputting same address! For the Spotify Duo plan, the person who signs up for the plan is the manager of it. Then you login to the Spotify account page on the website and you have the ability to invite one other member to the plan. You each will still sign into your own account when using Spotify. It's just that the plan billing for both accounts is tied to the manager account. If the person you are inviting to the plan already has premium on their account it won't be a problem, however any remaining premium time that the person has already paid for will be forfeited upon joining the duo plan. Make sure you change your address to the same as your friend or vice versa. According to Spotify, both must live at the same address to join Premium Duo. More on reddit.com

When you invite the duo after purchasing the plan, they would be asked to enter the address. Just make sure you both enter the exact same address and you can use duo plan easily. But you should be in the same country atleast. More on reddit.com
