I don’t remember which post I saw the comment in, but someone was asking if the $99 gift cards Best Buy still offer will cover an entire year. I just bought one and my account now says I won’t be charged $11.99 until June 2025.
The only thing I’m unsure of is if I will be able to upgrade to Supremium or whatever they end up calling it, whenever it comes out. But tbh, I’m in between jobs rn and I need to save my coins, so I’ll survive.
TL;DR - $99 annual gift cards still valid (for now). Averages out to $8.25/month
EDIT: Best Buy link
Hello Beermoney Boffins!
My 12month Spotify premium is expiring next month and I'm wondering if anybody has better way of getting a new one then my plan below? Done a quick search and 12month gift card is currently £120 at various retailers.
The plan:
Buy one4all giftcard (£20 for the purpose of this exercise) through NXRewards this month
Link the card to Airtime Rewards
Buy £20 Argos gift card from Argos (through NXRewards link) using one4all card for effective price of £16 then 10% cashback from NXR is £2, 1% cashback from Airtime is £0.2;
£6.2 saving so far
4. Buy one4all giftcard (£100) through NXRewards in December
5. Link the card to Airtime Rewards
6. Use £100 one4all card (effective price is £80, £20 saving then 10% NXR cashback is £10, 2% Airtime cashback is £2)+ previously purchased Argos GC (£6.2 saving) to buy £120 Spotify Premium from Argos (through NXR link)
£38.2 shaved off the £120 purchase price. Does my math make sense? Anybody has a better way?
If anyone uses Spotify individual premium plan, it looks like the $99 annual giftcards you can use to save money (you save a bit over $40 paying the $11.99 a month) on a subscription are in the process of being changed to $120 annual gift cards. I recommend buying them at the $99 price now while you still can if you do this gift card trick! I was able to buy a digital one at bestbuy today for $99 and it gave me the full year credit on Spotify. Amazon has already switched to $120 pricing for annual. Sams club canceled my digital order for the $99 today. Any physical $99 annual premium Spotify cards should still be that price and work for a year as well. (note that these annual gift cards can't be used on any other kind of accounts, they don't work on duo or family etc).
I’m asking because this takes the burden off of me a little bit financially
