There are Staples stores that are very busy (mine included), and others that aren’t. Speaking of Staples Advantage, we get one of two customers per month who think they can go to any Staples store to return something. They can’t, and it boggles their mind. Unfortunately that’s the lassiez faire of customer service at Staples, even internally. Calling IT whenever a machine in copy center goes down is so much of a hassle cause the only response you’ll get is to turn it off and on, that it’s not even worth it to submit a ticket for it. If you’ve gotten your item/money, I’d say it’s best to wash your hands of this mess and move on. I know you have a lot of sentimentality with the company, trust me that’s why I sought out a job here, but nothing beats corporate greed and labor outsourcing. Other than a great slogan (Staples is Human), there are some other benefits you can’t get from Amazon. You can use your contract account in store and receive the better of your contract price or retail price. You can have real human interactions with real people. If you shop in store you can price match other retailers including Amazon (if shipped and sold by Amazon). I’m sure there are plenty of other great reasons, but I say, go to the stores whenever you can. Unless you are in Canada. More on reddit.com
