I feel bad since I know its not really Staple employees favourite thing, but I just had a quick question about the system from the back-end.
I returned two items with separate bar codes. I saw the gentlemen put two separate stickers, scan and place them in the same box. One got notified and refunded the same night, the other didn't update to dropped off.
Do different bar codes have varying processing times? Or did the package just get miss-scanned and I just go through Amazon again? I tried but they are asking for a "drop off receipt". I told them Staples doesn't give one? (They never gave me one before.)
Basically asking if its worth going back to Staples and asking for some info that I can forward to Amazon or if I just keep bugging Amazon support about it exclusively. Thanks!

that’s weird that they said they don’t do receipts, we very much do, the whole reason staples does amazon returns is because we want u to use the coupon on the receipt. different qr codes would be listed separately on the receipt. if it was one qr code that had to be split up and have multiple stickers it would only be listed as one thing on the receipt.

The boxes get closed up on being filled and then get closed in the system which depending on the store, either an Amazon worker comes and picks it up or they ship it back via UPS. The item that you haven't gotten anything for yet may be one that they actually need to arrive before refunding you. I'm surprised you didn't get a receipt though. Hopefully, if you choose to, the person working knows how to look up past returns and can match your code to a sticker.* If you still have that code or the tracking (forget what way you mentioned you did the return) they can rescan it and write it down before they look at returns history. You can chat on Amazon I believe and find out what that one particular items return policy is also. The reprint of the receipt isn't known by all on how to get to it/print it. If you do go back to the store ask the print supervisor if available they'll most likely have the best chance for assisting you, but it is accessible from the main shipping screen after login. They just have to do a search and select the correct date and type of return.

my gm and i do amazon returns differently. he scans the first code twice and the other codes(for the same customer) only once in amazons return system. so when the receipt prints, there’s only one return code on it. the way i do it, i scan each code for each return twice, once in our system and then in amazon’s. when the receipt prints, there is a different tracking for each qr code scanned. all on the same receipt. does it matter which way we do it?

The way it shows it the training is the way you are doing it. That is how I do bc if it shows proof that we scanned each qr. If something was to happen and amazon says they didn't get the return or show the return processed, that is the customers proof

The first way hides the returns from Staples' home office analytics so that will hurt you getting hours for the shipping associate and would let you do returns for other stores as the check is done on the first scan. On the other hand, it's faster.

We used to handle those in our Print department with all the other shipping stuff, but it got to the point where we couldn't get any actual work done to make money for the company, so a lot of stores have moved the QR code scanning to another part of the store.
