Not to be rude, but this review kind of sucks. The Staub is a thicker pot and has a dark-colored interior. This thickness will take longer to heat up but retain heat better. The color will also contribute to additional heat retention. The review attributes Le Creuset's liquid retention to its lid, when in reality, it was actually just cooking at a lower temperature. When comparing these two products, you need to let the reader know what each product does best. However, this is probably impossible for this reviewer because they don't know how to test them properly. Answer from thelastsonofmars on reddit.com

Staub Vs Le Creuset: Which Is Better? | Bon Appétit
August 8, 2025 - I prefer Le Creuset due to its slightly lighter weight and beginner-friendly light interior, whereas my colleague and fellow Dutch oven tester Emily Farris prefers Staub for the sear it imparts on meat. They’re expensive pieces of cookware, but they’ll never need replacing if you take good care of them (hand-washing only, please), and they’ll never disappoint. ... Staub Dutch Oven Review: Expert Analysis by a Professional Chef
April 14, 2025 - On Amazon, one customer mentioned that the small lid knobs make them harder to grip, especially when using bulky oven mitts. A larger, more user-friendly knob would provide a more secure grip. One Reddit user also shared the same concern as me. They said that the space between the Staub handles and the pot makes it a bit challenging to grip and maneuver, especially when the pot is hot and heavy. Another observation from Amazon reviews is that the black interior of the Staub Dutch Oven can make it harder to see a color change in the food being cooked.

Staub Cast Iron Dutch Oven Review for Cooking
November 5, 2020 - The brightest minds in chemistry, botany, biology, and hell, psychiatry all agree: It is scientifically impossible to make anything but the most comforting of comfort foods in a Dutch oven. It'll make you want to nap. Like, a 10-hour nap, your first in months. I am not technically purporting that the Staub Dutch oven is a sleep aid, but in 2020, I'm not ruling it out entirely.

Staub Cast Iron Dutch Oven Review
July 23, 2024 - Most Dutch Ovens drip from a single point in the middle of the lid, from the screw holding the handle in place, and may have a looser lid. The Staub cast iron dutch oven seems to encourage moisture to stay in the pot and distribute it evenly.
