Are Staub Cocotte original?
It's supposed to be $199.99, but somehow a $25 discount got applied once added in the cart, and it did stay for check out.
I was looking for a 5.5 quart, but at this price, I bite the bullet for this. And be warned some do hate the grill pan style lid, as it is indeed harder to lift and has no knot for one to change. Many complained the grilled pan is hard to clean after grilling, but some argued it's not that bad. However, some simply argue a normal cast iron pan is better than any grilling pan coz the latter does give less browning. It is common to see user said they rarely use the lid as a grill pan.
Color said blue or red, but should be sapphire or grenadine.
In term of the price, I was told not long ago that VI 5.5 quart can go to as low as $130, 7 quart $150 (not sure if those prices are for majolique colors or not.) And this $199.99 normal discounted price is pretty common from Costco for this set.
so take all these into account to see if you want to wait for VI 7 or 5.5 quart with a normal lid.
While this price is great, some people in the past cautioned these are actually VI products and returned theirs after inspection. Fellow redditor pointed out it could be ppl not being familiar with hand-made product. But, at least Costco have good return policy. Ppl also said Costco would only allow return not exchange if one did have a defective item but just want to exchange for a normal one.
