Also like the other commenter stated buying a pump online and installing yourself provides no warranty. So either they can charge a little more and give you a warranty or they can charge you the same and sell you a warranty for the price difference usually. I've got air in my lines and need to replace the submersible well pump and the pipe running from the pump to the pitless adaptor.
The well company has quoted ~$2700 for materials, including $1100 for a pump I can find online for $660. $5/ft for schedule 120 pvc. $3.50/ft for wiring.
About $1000 in labor.
Is this reasonable? Seems excessive to charge 100% markup on retail prices.

My well is about 400 feet deep and it cost $6K to replace the pump, mostly from wiring. That's a little more than twice your quote at a little more than twice the depth. Maybe I got ripped off (I'm in CT so, probably), but at least you have another set of numbers to interpolate with.
