If you have a decent home printer already, look into buying sticker sheets on Amazon that you can load into the printer normally. I use them and they're compatible with Pirate Ship (heck I think Pirate ship recommended them) and they're like $5 for 200 stickers and I didn't have to buy a whole new printer for them. There are many label printer options out there depends on how you're using it. There’s the industrial-grade ones like zebra and rollo, great for high volume shipping labels, esp if you're running an Etsy shop or small business. Fast, reliable, but not exactly compact or budget-friendly. Then there’s the mid range desktop crowd like brother QL series, dymo, etc. These are solid for general home/office use. Good quality but can be a bit bulky and usually need to be tethered to a computer. And then you've got the portable Bluetooth ones, handy for on the go labeling, smaller jobs, or just not wanting to deal with wires. like the nelko P21. It’s tiny, runs via bluetooth, and works straight from your phone with templates for addresses, barcodes, etc. Not meant for huge batches, but great for organizing, mailing, or labeling random stuff around the house. So yeah depends if you’re printing 500 Amazon orders or just trying to label some drawers and packages. More on reddit.com

I have the rollo wireless. It does air print which I like since my home is like three stories. I’ve had it for 2 years no problems and I’ve used generic thermal Labels with it. More on reddit.com
