If you want structured paths with a real capstone, Coursera’s big name tracks are better, especially for data stuff, but they can be slow and a bit academic. Udemy is hit or miss, look for high rated instructors and recent updates, it’s great for quick skill gaps and project based tutorials. Do a small project per course and put it on GitHub, then apply while you’re learning, waiting to feel “ready” takes forever. Also, the market is rough and there’s a lot of ghost listings on the big boards, if you’re open to remote roles, wfhalert is a simple service that emails vetted postings like support or junior web dev so you can focus on applying without wading through junk. I have done both courses myself .. and I would say that andrew ng course is way better than Udemy course .. andrews course contain more of theoretical and concept building style, but is also very praticle if you do all the assignments and quizes yourself .. the only downside is that all the assignments are in Matlab/Octave when i should have been in Python .. Its a good question and one that is relevant to many teachers. I use Moodle and don't know much about the others, so will paste in some Wikipedia research. Moodle: Started in 2002. "Coursera works with universities and other organizations to offer online courses, specializations, and degrees in a variety of subjects." Skillshare: Started in 2011. "Skillshare is an online learning community for people who want to create educational videos. The courses, which are not accredited, are available through subscription. The majority of courses focus on interaction rather than lecturing, with the primary goal of learning by completing a project." Degreed Started in 2012. Degreed is an education technology company that is engaged in enabling and recognizing professional and lifelong learning and skills. The platform allows users to learn, develop and measure their skills. Degreed is free for individuals.
