Hey guys I’ve shipped from U.K. to USA and on tracking today it says the package is in koeln Germany. I’m very confused Is that normal ?
Anyone else facing delays from Germany? UPS is saying it is due to customs, but it seems like the facility at Cologne has a history of issues.
Package (From Germany to USA):
27.08 We Have Your Package
30.08 Arrived at Facility (Koeln, Germany)
03.09 An emergency situation or severe weather condition has delayed delivery. (Koeln, Germany)
04.09 On the Way An emergency situation or severe weather condition has delayed delivery. / Your delivery will be rescheduled. (Koeln, Germany)
** Edit 1: Sept 5 **
Now it’s saying: 05.09 Delay (Koeln, Germany) 05.09 Rescheduled Delivery, but no updated date.
** Edit 2: Sept 6 **
Now it seems to have departed or at least moved! As of 9pm in Germany: 06.09 On the way (Koeln, Germany)
** Edit 3: Sept 9 **
Seems to be out for delivery now in USA.
** Edit 4: arrived! No explanation from UPS…. **

Is this normal behavior for UPS? Should I not have chosen 'Expedited'?

Hi. A package I shipped to the US has been stuck in the Arrival scan stage in Koeln for two weeks. Is this a common occurence on US bound deliveries or is something iffy going on? UPS support has been unclear on that front
I am locking this as it basically is just two people fighting now.
UPS is in the midst of a second unplanned peak season from COVID in the middle of what should be a slower part of the year for UPS. You should contact the shipper as they likely have better contacts to help determine what is happening with your package.
Plz post the tracking info
Edit:
So it actually left Koeln after 2:30 pst time
my guess its moving on to the US from here since it hasn't updated for a few hours past left facility
Thanks for all the input ill keep if I do get it friday. But at least I know the wiggle room Will help
I had a package ship via UPS Expedited from Italy on July 21st and arrive at the Koeln hub on July 27th. Since then I have had 4 rescheduled delivery updates and this absurd package log.
Update: after 16 days of package quarantine it finally hopped across the pond last night and is out for delivery today!
I have a package coming to me in the U.K., via Germany. The tracking shows that it’s travelled from “Koeln”, as the tracking spells it/Köln/Cologne in Germany (must have arrived there from South Korea by air), to Stanford-le-Hope in the U.K.. There’s no airport there, so it can’t have come by air.
Apparently UPS opened a facility in DP (Dubai Ports) World London Gateway Logistics Park, which has a rail terminal, and which is also next to a deep sea container port on the same site, which used to be the former Shell Haven oil refinery port, in Thurrock, which has good road links, and is close to Stanford-le-Hope by road.
Out of interest, my question is, would my package have travelled from Köln to Stanford-le-Hope by road, rail, or sea?
The journey from Köln to Stanford-le-Hope took just over 10-and-a-half hours overnight, according to the tracking. The package is travelling from Shanghai, via Incheon in South Korea, via Köln in Germany, to the U.K.. The package cleared E.U. customs in Germany. The service it is being shipped by is UPS Worldwide Express Saver World Ease.
(Note that the UPS tracking uses incorrect orthography for Stanford-le-Hope, as it does with “Koeln” for Köln - it calls it “Stanford Le Hope”, with incorrect capitalisation, and lacking the dashes.)
