I have never used West Elm organic washed cotton sheets so I couldn't comment on theirs. But I have used organic cotton sheets from MUJI and the one we sell in store, and both of them are pretty durable to me. Maybe yours is too thin with only 200 thread count? More on reddit.com

I think you may have a misunderstanding of the fabric supply chain. The Belgian flax material used for these sheets (and curtains) is imported from Europe. It gets sent to China, where the products are sewn (manufactured) and then shipped to you. Just because your sheets didn’t ship from Belgium doesn’t mean they’re not made of material that did. I don’t think these companies are misrepresenting anything. You can be pretty certain these days that any product from a large retailer is likely manufactured in China. If not China, then the Philippines, Thailand, or somewhere in SEA. Edited to add: if you want a nice sheet set, I highly recommend Coyuchi. They make high quality products and only source from countries that align with their mission of “always organic, minimally processed, and sustainably made.” More on reddit.com

For a convertible, I would go ahead and purchase the conversion kit if you plan to ever use it. Many companies change their offerings and it may not be available when you’re ready to buy it in 2+ years. Generally PBK stuff is decent quality though, even if I personally feel it’s overpriced. West Elm has a horrible, and I mean horrible reputation for this kind of thing. We got a couch from there and thankfully it came, but it was honestly one big gamble because a good chunk of people who order West Elm furniture never receive it and never get a refund.
