Get better tape. Scotch clear packing tape is the best (the ONLY thing I would buy when I managed a bookstore… we shipped tons of 50lb boxes). You can get it in bulk at Costco. Answer from yardini on reddit.com

r/Flipping on Reddit: Where do you get your boxes (if you ship)? Do you buy new?

This picture is half of a bunch of new boxes I bought yesterday from a guy who was cleaning out a store that has closed. These are 42" tubes but I can cut them down to smaller sizes. I sell on eBay and Etsy and with a few exceptions, all of my boxes are new. I love the idea of free boxes but in my opinion it is so much less hassle to work with predictable sizes and shapes. As much as possible, I look at marketplace and Craigslist for listings where a warehouse is moving or a store is closing and buy that way (if I'm lucky, I get them for free). Do you buy new? Or get used from stores, recycle bins, friend/family?

I've been shipping a good bit of 11x14 frames and I've just been scrounging up old Amazon boxes and what not in my house.

This is inexpensive (free!) but also unprofessional and if you don't have right size box I've found it can double shipping costs at USPS.

So where does everyone source boxes? I know the website Uline through my work. I found a nice box that looks like it would be good for 11x14 frames...

but $3 per box seems a little pricey for some cardboard. Any other websites or places I should be checking out?

Would love to hear how people source their own shipping boxes.

Personally, I have around 3,000 orders I need to ship next month, and am looking for the most cost effective way to source just normal corrugated brown shipping boxes, around 12"x12"x12" size.

Thank you in advance!

I have been using Uline but really sick of their crazy high shipping costs (mandatory 1-day shipping), not having the actual sizes I need (even tho they have 1000s of boxes), and the boxes are costly as well.
Any other recommendations? I looked at associatedbag but they are basically a middle-man and so each box you order has its OWN shipping cost. You can end up paying a freight shipping charge multiple times. unfeasible.

So many options for Shipping Boxes; Where do you go? : r/Flipping
October 31, 2022 - We have never paid for boxes. Look on Facebook, keep all your boxes from Amazon delivery, ask local stores, etc. As far as finding boxes that fit your bigger items, watch a video or two on the term “FrankenBox” ... And if you’re willing to pay a little more, or pass on the cost, or you’re already shipping priority, go to the USPS site for free supplies.
