Why is openSUSE installation file so big compared to other distro installation? It has a size of 4.7GB , a whole DVD disk, compared to the size of other common distros which barely weights 2GB or less.
Note: Im just installing for a personal computer (laptop), no an enterprise or server version.
I get why people install arch, debian, fedora, centos, ubuntu, gentoo, etc. I understand their philosophies and the type of distro they are, cutting edge / stable AF, etc. I can't figure out why someone would want to use openSUSE. I'm not trying to stir the pot. I'm legitamitly wanting to know what openSUSE is about, what its strengths and weaknesses are, and a meme level comment is ok if you are actually giving me useful info also.
Suse as 2 billion networth how that is even posible why is their networth so high ?
I want to hear what you, the actual users, have to say? What makes openSUSE your choice?
I just moved to OpenSUSE from Debian and see really big drop in performance on my 12-years old laptop. The DE is the same for both (MATE). Browser, file manager, opening programs - everything is noticeably slower. Should this be expected, or am I doing something wrong?
OpenSUSE always made me curious because a lot of people recommand OpenSUSE but to my eyes at least it seems like nobody is really using OpenSUSE. And its kind of understandable because there is not some kind of outstanding feature that OpenSUSE has and other distros have'nt that I heard of. (although I know nothing really about this distro).
I tried to look up online like something that will make OpenSUSE compeling but I dont find anything that suggests that.
I mean there is all the developer related stuff that OpenSUSE advertises about itself but again I never heard about any programmer who uses OpenSUSE
So I'm here to ask you, Why the hell are you running OpenSUSE?
I use linux mint can you give me some reasons to switch to opensuse?
