Do people use low actuations on ability keys

I understand people using very low actuations points on WASD with their wooting/magnetic keyboards

But do yall also use those low actuations points for ability keys as well?

(I'm not talking bout rapid trigger..just the actuvation)

I’m curious about this keyboard, are those allowed? I’ve considered buying them but I’m not sure if I can get banned for using it?

I use very sensitive on key presses on all keys then have another profile for typing that is more normal

I'm sure comments will reflect various preferences but the one tip I've seen that absolutely cannot be argued is that whatever else you do, assuming you're not suicidal and want to keep your new keyboard in less than several pieces, you should set your defuse key to have extremely high rapid trigger or no rapid trigger at all for reasons that should be obvious

So I've been using the wooting 60he for about a month now and it's pretty good. I've been getting used to typing on it and I've finally gotten used to it. I get about 120 WPM on monkeytype. I was wondering if someone has a profile that is optimized/better for typing then the standard gaming profile. I'm using 0,3mm actuation and 0.15mm rapid trigger on my current gaming profile.

UPDATE- After personal testing I found very low actuation point (0.2mm), and rapid trigger at the lowest is actually the best for me, I got up to 140 WPM after a few days on monkeytype weirdly enough. You have to tailor it to yourself and find what makes you the best.

I think Optimal is an individual assessment. I’m not the greatest typist so I like 1.5 to not accidentally double press a key and then have better accuracy. I think the question you gotta ask is what do you need from the keyboard to improve some area of your typing

I'm using 1.0mm on all buttons - avg 180WPM on monkeytype / typeracer 140-150ish (fuck punctuation) that's for my typing profile. And I have gaming profile which is wasd on 0.1 and few other specific buttons like ctrl 0.5, space 1.5, win button 4.0

I can’t speak for the pros but I use: 0.1mm WASD 4mm Windows key 2mm everything else Feels super responsive for movement and I don’t accidentally hit anything else.

I use 0.1mm actuation on all keys (except Windows and dropping weapons at 4.0mm) Rapidtrigger on all movement Keys is at 0.1mm. I only play csgo (~6k hours, ~3k elo Faceit) Best Keyboard I have ever used in 20 years of playing cs. No struggles with accidental clicking etc. (Stock springs)

Hey all, I was wondering, what should I get straight into configuring when my Wooting keyboard arrives?

Here's my list so far:

Configure rapid trigger keys to my liking, so maybe keys like E should have more leniency to avoid e.g., accidentally stop reviving someone. Any more suggestions from your experience?
Modify keys at bottom right so that they have arrow key functionality.

Of course, I'm sure I'll tinker around for a while. But if you have any ideas of things to customize as soon as I get it, I'd appreciate hearing them. Thanks.

My suggestion is to lube the switches if nothing else, they're not terrible as shipped but it's never a bad idea. For the layout/mapping part I'd search for the game you play the most, in all likelihood there will be a profile that already has been setup for it. Load that profile to your keeb and play around with it. It'll give you an idea of what already works and give you a good base that you can tweak to suit your own preference. That's what I did for CSGO.

I’ve found I prefer to remove rapid trigger from Shift, Space, Enter, ESC, and Backspace. It makes for easier typing when you need to quickly chat in game, and also prevents sprinting / jumping error. Of course this all depends on the game you’re playing.

I got the keypad around 3 weeks ago and It honestly hasnt helped me a bit. I have tried bunch of settings but it all just makes finger control and acc harder with no real benefits. I need settings from people who found success with it because I feel like im missing something

Actuation point 0.2-0.5 Press 0.15-0.3 Release 0.15-0.6 I use 0.2/0.2/0.3 Rapid trigger obviously on Continuous rapid trigger on Tachyon mode on edit years later after having gotten even better at speed: i would recommend 0.5-1.0 for actuation point now, and rapid trigger at 0.3-0.7 (same for both press and release) continuous rapid trigger should definitely be on, tachyon mode doesn't really matter though i think <0.5 actuation point ended up causing some doubletaps for me mostly on jumps so i would suggest something slightly higher (i use 0.8 now), this doesn't matter much for streams anyway since continuous rapid trigger kicks in and really low rapid trigger i.e. 0.15 is good for really high bpm streams (300+) but on lower bpm stuff i would occasionally get accidental overstreams just from slightly changing my hand posture etc, i found that around 0.3 was the lowest i could reliably use without that happening, on the other hand above 0.7 i noticed some of my keypresses not registering when playing 280+, at least with my technique and the movements i have gotten used to performing over the years definitely mess around with your settings a bit and try out different stuff but these should be good guidelines

all the people that got success with the wooting/rapid trigger kbs/keypads, are people that were already quite good without it in terms of finger control or speed. Wooting/Rapid trigger just gives a small boost and helps a bit with the finger lock

I've had my wooting for a few months now and while I can easily say it's the fastest and highest performing keyboard I've built so far (4 other custom mechs) it seems to be actually causing some issues with my movement in Valorant.

I've been playing with very low actuation points on WASD and slightly higher on everything else and what I realized was that I would experience more movement error with low actuation vs. high because I am reacting during fights to strafe left and right however since it's so fast I'm actually moving before I shoot causing movement error. I do however have a very low reset so the keystrokes reset as soon as I lift off.

I just bumped everything up to about 2.0 from .5 to reduce this but am I not getting the full performance capabilities by limiting it? Should I just try to get used to the more sensitive keystrokes? Curious if anyone else has experienced this after coming from a different custom mech. Maybe I'm just hitting the keys too hard LOL.

I would tend to believe errors like that are simply skill issues than keyboard problems. You'd really have to do something like record your hand movement along with the game footage to have a better idea whether it's on you or the keyboard.

It’s definitely just something you need to get used to through playing. Your timings with movement/shooting are gonna feel off for a bit but after a while it’s like second nature

Custom actuations for sure. Helps with super glides a lot

Custom Jump and Crouch actuation points to get superglide timing in comfortable hand position. A S D actuation around 0.3 - 0.6 with rapid trigger enabled And I had my map and alt-interact binded to one button via Dynamic Keystroke (I use alt-interact like once a year) but it was meh… Some players like to set ability button to around 3.6 to avoid accidental presses, but It is subjective, most players don’t press buttons on accident

I don't think they do anything special over most of us. -Movement keys to lowest actuation, and rapid trigger. -All other keys you use to lowest actuation point. You don't really need rapid trigger on things like abilities, or spike plant imo, but it's nice to have them pull out/ activate quicker. And I also put keys I don't use, or wanna fat finger to a longer activation so I have to push it all the way down vs just slightly hitting it so I don't hit alt or something. And tachyon mode on, I don't use it cause I like my shiny lights, but for best performance you'd want it on. This is what I use for valorant. CS is the same but I have like 20hrs in that game so IDK. Maybe someone knows something I don't

Apologies if I’m not doing too well at explaining my question. Sometimes there’s loopholes to things so I’m just trying to get a better understanding.

I read someone a while ago say that 0.8mm actuation with rapid trigger will actually be faster/better than 0.1mm, I forgot the exact messages but I think they said 0.8mm with rapid trigger + tachyon on WASD will actually be more fast than 0.1mm WASD with rapid trigger + tachyon due to ——?

I personally use 1.0 on everything besides windows key 4.0. I don’t play any games competitively. I’m just wondering what is the actual “fastest” and the logic/reasoning, or is it not that complicated and 0.1mm with rapid trigger + tachyon is obviously the fastest?

as far as i'm aware there's no reason other than personal preference that 0.8mm would be faster. if anything it's slower to activate by a bit compared to 0.1 when activating a key from fully unpressed. It might be as fast if someone is used to holding a key just above actuation normally and so is used to that motion? Again, if you press a key down from fully extended, it will literally take more time to activate (barely) with 0.8mm compared to 0.1.

For anybody using the Wooting 60 HE, what are you settings?

I’m currently using a digital profile.

.4mm actuation on all keys Rapid Trigger & Continuous Rapid Trigger enabled on E, Lshift and F (ramp, cone and edit) @ .5mm up and down Tachyon mode enabled Brightness at 30%

I’ve found that I’m more consistent w these settings, but I’m curious to know how other people have it set up.

I dunno because mine hasn’t arrived yet but here’s an upvote and some activity for the thread. I am curious to know this as well.

Personally, using the wooting 60-HE has shown considerable benefit in my game. I’m decently high ping (25-40 depending on time of day and what else is on the network) with very sub-optimal key binds. Before I used to struggle to consistently triple edit and now I have no issues. I also started playing with double movement and really enjoy it. I have tachyon mode on, rapid re-trigger on, and all of my keys set to .1mm actuation except for space bar, escape, tab and map. I’ve gotten used to it and almost never accidentally press any keys. I use the default double movement settings and all of this combined has led to me being much better at strafing when spraying into/in a box, as well as maneuvering around corners and hitting right hand peeks

Just got the wooting and i put actuation at 1mm and sensitivity for rapid trigger at 0.5 mm. Is this good settings for csgo and valorant? Or is there way better

it’s really all preference but if i were you i would set the actuation point for wasd to 0.1 to 0.5 and rapid trigger to 0.15 and continuous

Just curious to know everyone's settings when playing comp fps games.

I mainly play csgo, while using 1mm actuation for the global profile, while having W,A,S,D,R,Shift, and control with 0.5 actuation with rapid trigger also set to 0.5. (Tachyon mode also enabled)

Just curious on what ya'll are using

CSGO Global 0.8 Esc set to 2.0 since I always hit that when panic swapping WASD set to .2 with rapid fire set at .15 with tachyon mode
