FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS and it’ll go fine, but it takes a while to assemble. The only real difficulty was when it came time to put the 4 sections of roof on. It takes at least 3 adults, 4 or 5 would be better. After everything was said and done, it’s proper sturdy and very well engineered. I’ve been very happy with it. Took a whole weekend to build. 3 to 4 people is a must. Getting the roof up was the hardest part. Edit: As far as tools go, we used 2 drills and 1 impact gun (for the lag bolts). All battery powered. We also had a few rachets and wrenches. A hammer, measuring tape, and a level. Nothing too fancy. More on reddit.com

Installed the 12x14 gazebo in 2018, very happy with it. Only complaint is that the installation directions could be more clear, plus they could be rewritten to have you perform certain steps in the assembly more efficiently. But their online assembly videos are a big help. More on reddit.com

I put mine on slab and then had to pour a couple of little concrete areas for 2 of the feet. I used redhead concrete sleeves and screws to secure to the ground. I also bought a couple of the roll down shades that I installed inside the unit. And bought the Yardistry mosquito cover thing too. All in all, never had an issue with feeling hotter under the gazebo. If anything, we feel cooler under the shade. The roof never made us feel hotter. I just recently installed a fan/light combo in the middle. Fairly easy to install if you know what you’re doing.

What are y'alls thoughts and experiences with those prefab gazebos like the ones from Costco? Some of the reviews suggest that there's a good bit of fine tuning to make it all fit just right. To me that just sounds like it would just as fun to build one myself without the kit. My question is whether that's reasonable, or a fool's errand. What say you, experts?
